Tonight Greg Stewart (06-07) scored his first NHL point (an assist on the third goal) on Hockey Night in Canada!

I'd missed news of his call up. Outstanding to hear that he was both called up and contributed with points.

I was reading the Montreal Canadiens message board awhile back (great site to read other's impressions of former Cyclones)http://forum.canadiens.com/index.php?s=d72fe37e33739f663b3d71b6570526f1&showforum=41
and the feedback on Stewart's one game in Montreal-the last game of the regular season in 07-08 was interesting to read.

Stewart was one of my favorite type of players here ... a talented forward who was never afraid to drop the gloves to stand up for his team.

The Montreal Canadiens are sending Sergei Kostitsyn to the Hamilton Bulldogs and calling up Greg Stewart.

Stewart may have found himself a home in Montreal. The Habs just traded one of their 4th line checkers.http://thespec.com/Wire/Sports_Wire/NHL_Hockey_Wire/article/521177

Begin, a favourite of the Bell centre crowd who is known for his high-impact, up-tempo game, saw his place taken in the past two weeks by the younger, bigger Gregory Stewart. Gainey said Stewart was "ready to take his place as one of our 12 or 14 forwards, which put Steve in a difficult spot."

How about that!!

Stewart evidently pummelled Ott of Dallas the other night and is rapidly becoming a fan favorite in Montreal:http://forum.canadiens.com/index.php?showtopic=19300&st=560
