CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that they have placed defenseman Conrad Martin on the club’s suspended list and traded forward Michael Cohen. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Martin, 26, quit the team on Monday morning. Conrad will be heading to Austria to play hockey. He has been placed on the Cyclones suspended list and his rights are maintained by the club. He will be unable to play hockey for any other North American professional hockey team while under suspension. He is the sixth player to have been placed on the suspended list this season.

“It’s unfortunate that this has happened,” Cyclones Head Coach Chuck Weber said. “We can’t compete with the economics of the offers that come from teams in Europe. It is frustrating to watch players leave, but we will continue to press forward and field the best team that we can.”

In other news, forward Michael Cohen has been traded to the Phoenix Roadrunners to complete the trade for Tom Sawatske that was executed on October 28. Cohen becomes the ‘future considerations’ in that trade. Michael netted eleven goals and seven assists for 18 points in 31 games with Cincinnati this season.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

I don't think I would look to see Syroczynski back any time soon.

Martin is a huge loss, Cohen would be if he continued to light the lamp like he did in Johnstown this weekend. Prior to that, while I liked his speed and hustle, his shot was painful to watch.

Wyman was pretty much non-existant as for as points go with Hamilton ... hopefully he can do some damage at this level (he went straight from college to the A with the Bulldogs so this will be his first stint at a lower minor league). Gainey was a nice pick-up for them ... he has NHL experience with Dallas and Phoenix and had 30 points in the E with Idaho this year.

Wyman has actually been assigned to Cincinnati for Chuck to build him as a dman. Chuck said tonight that he may be playing Wyman as a forward on select shifts but the focus is being placed on his defensive play. I am excited to see St Denis back and also looking forward to seeing how Wyman is built under Chuck and Dean's wings.
