I agree that the game is not the same when HFH is not there but I also have to admit that the banging on the glass does get annoying. That said I always figured that there is no point complaining because I don't expect it to ever change.

I am more bothered by people that move up to the front row and then insist on standing up against the glass so that the people behind them can't see the ice. Feel free to sit in the front row but stay seated so the rest of us can also see the action.

The more banging, heckling and carrying on is fine with me. ITS A HOCKEY GAME! We want USBA to be the worst arena for visiting teams to come to. We want them thinking on the way to Cincinnati that they will be catching hell all night, and it will be loud. We want them off their games, and focusing on anything other than the game.

I don't think banging on the glass accomplishes as much as you guys think it does. I'm sure it annoys some players to an extent, but I think well-placed one-liners are better at throwing players off their games. Banging on the glass is more of a background type, noise of the game, that goes along with the noise of skates on ice, puck hitting sticks, etc. But players on the ice are constantly yelling at each other, communicating plays, etc. and a good one-liner could sneak into their ears during the flow of communication with each other.

Besides, if banging on the glass annoys players, don't you think it would work both ways, and annoy players on both sides?

I agree that HFH is a staple at Cyclones home games. I never found the banging on the glass annoying; it's just part of a game at USBA! I'm not really sure how much it bothers the players on the ice. I think it's more of a way to get the crowd agitated and into the game. If there's something going on to take my attention away from the game then I hear the banging going on down at the other end, I KNOW something is going on and I'd better get my eyes back on the ice!

And for the guys on our team, I really doubt it bothers them all that much. The more they play at home, the more they're going to get used to the sounds of playing at home. It might be comforting in a way. Coach says he can really tell a difference in the guys playing on the road when a bunch of fans come and cheer loud. I figure it works twice as well at home.

Dustin Sproat said the other night that he really notices how different the fans are here compared to in California, in general. He said mostly the California fans would only cheer when they got in fights and wouldn't get all that excited about goals or great plays. He can tell here that we pay attention to the whole game and appreciate their skill as players and not just fighters.

What you do today can change the course of your life far into the future. Today is critical. Today really counts.

All I can say is I get into the game. The banging on the glass can be many things. Annoyance to the opposing goalie, cheerleader with the fans, or my version of clapping. Since I wear gloves, I don't clap, hence, the punching on the glass. And since I broke 2 fingers beating on the glass, I bought gloves. I'm glad you all find me a staple at the games. I just love the game.

Mellow out for Pete's sake. People should be able to express an opinion without being told to stay home.

Stating opinion and bitching about noise are two different things. Its a hockey game for pete's sake of course its gonna be loud and people will bang on the glass. If people wanna complain about something how about complaining about the idiots who stand in the front row or the morons who move up and down when the puck is in play.

No ****, I will take HFH banging the hell
out of the glass then the A-Holes who come
down and stand in front of the glass or for
the parents that come to the game and think
it's a social event and sit there and drink
and talk and don't watch the game or their kids
and let the rugratz run a muck Up and down the
steps it was so bad the other night they came
and was sitting in my daughters seat when I ask them to
move they went down and stood in front of the glass.
Don't get me wrong that's fine for them to come with the
kids and hang out and drink, But watch your own kids, I don't
fill like watching them for you. I have my own to watch.

Last year at one of the scout nights I got into it with a father who wasn't watching his group of kids. There were about 20 or so kids standing by the glass and some were sitting on the steps in the aisle from the first row to around the 10th row. My wife and I had a 4 month old baby at the time and we had to go up for a diaper change. We couldn't hardly get up the steps because the stupid kids were sitting there and they didnt even try to move. On our way back to our seats I purposely stepped on one of the kids' hands after asking him 3 times to please move. He ran over and told his dad I stepped on him and his dad(who was liquored up) comes over to my seat and starts cussing me and said the kids weren't doing anything wrong. I said so blocking an aisle isn't wrong? How about you drink a few less beers and get control of your stupid ass kids. It really boggles my mind how idiotic some parents are today and it scares me knowing what kind of society my kid is going to grow up in.

GO HABS GO!!!
