With Elmira coming up this weekend,I wonder if the coach is planning on giving Loic some playing time and Nie some rest? I would love to see Loic in goal tonight and if he does well, throw him out there on Wednesday also. Then you have much needed playing time for him and Montreal will also see we are giving him playing time.It was good to see Kyle get the start for Johnstown even if it did result in them tying with us.Bottom line is we need to hurt the 4th,5th and 6th place teams to assure us at least playoff position. How about the season ending with 4 straight against Johnstown.A sweep by either could drop the loser to 4th and first round in the playoffs could be ANOTHER head to head series ! |

I think tonight we go with Nie truthfully just to get the first game out of the way and give Loic a game on Wednesday and if he does good alternate this weekend. Thats my thought.
Also, tonight is my Birthday, so feel free to buy me cheese fried if you want, I'm obsessed with them! haha. |

this came up at the coach's show. chuck said it would be something he'd look at. 4 games in 5 days is a bit much, but at the same time, after saturday's game the guys don't play again until the following weekend.
if i had to venture a guess i'd say we see nie tonight and loic tomorrow. that being said nie is the hot goalie and reading is a team that has given us fits this season.... |

| With every team never underestimate thier record in my opinion, but i do feel whoever chuck goes with they will be very capable of winning as long as they dont look past Reading |

I'd like to see Lacasse get in some minutes.
The kid played exceptionally in the AHL and I've got to wonder where his head is after shining in the 'A' only to be benched in the 'E'.
But I understand Weber's thinking in going with the hot hand. Nie has done nothing to give up his number one status.
This is a 'good' coaching problem. Having to use Sawatske on the point during the power play is not. |

Nie is an established goaltender in the E, and a pretty good one at that. His play from those last two Florida games to current have been about as good as you're going to see anyone play in my opinion. He was going to be the number one goalie over either Lacasse or Gajewski even if he hadn't been playing so well (12-2 since joining the Clones), like Martin Houle was ... it was different because we had only previously seen Weber using the tandem method/ At the beginning of the year, both Lacasse and Gajewski struggled pretty badly, them both being rookies and all. We all remember the games where we could score 7 goals with Beauregard and Latindresse but still end up losing. I think Lacasse has improved drastically over the course of the season (and of course that wild stint in the AHL), but I still think he gives up a lot of softies from the past couple games I've seen him start live, which I think were in Dayton and in Wheeling.
All that being said, I agree with Elvis that I'd like to see Nie tonight and give Lacasse the start tomorrow planning for the weekend. |

| That was down-right ugly tonight. Being dominated by the worst team in the league. Hopefully they can put it together tomorrow night. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

A poor showing from our guys. The seven minute powerplay was a little much to defend and unfortunately set the tone for the game. As much as I would like to blame Pochmara for the loss I can't. (Don't get me wrong, he still sucked ! How 'bout two minutes for roughing Johnson's fist with your face; I can't believe there was no penalty on Nimmo in that whole skirmish !) We played like crap.
Passes were not even close to being completed, the powerplay was ineffective and our shots were for the most part seen from a mile away. All in all if we played them like we played Dayton this weekend all of us would be enjoying $5 off a Pulled Pork Sammich!
On the positive side Nie played outstanding and I like Clark on the PP taking up space.
Enough!!! Lets forget about it and come back tomorrow night and kick their a$$ ! |

Definitely a huge disappointment after the way they have been playing. I didn't think they didn't play hard, the fundamentals just never clicked ... passing, communication, everything. It was an oddly officiated game by our friend Barry. Normally he just makes calls back and fourth for each team ... this time he just gave Reading a bunch at the beginning and us a bunch at the end with not much in between. Nie did continue to play great once again, the team could just never bounce back from the 7-minute penalty kill. I'm guessing the Royal did something that really got under JJ's skin to make him keep swinging away after he had dropped down ... normally A. JJ waits until the face off to drop the gloves cleanly and B. Stops throwing punches once the guy goes "down". Whether the Reading guy committed a cheap shot or something and ran into the wrong guy (have we even played Reading since acquiring JJ?) or he was intentionally trying to draw the penalty, he played turtle it worked unfortunately. By the way, no excuse to not capitalize on the last few power plays. They never even came close. At one point the PP line was MacKenzie-Ferazzoli-MacLeod with Van Vliet on the point. I know the line-up is very depleted, but that was scary. Also, Salekin has got to stop taking so many shots!
I fully expect a better effort tomorrow night and I believe Lacosse will get the start, so they're really gonna need some to step it up. |

With this lineup clunkers are going to happen upon regular occasssion. Tuesday was quite an occassion. Kilpatrick, McElroy and Eghoetz are sorely missed.
Still, if Johnson doesn't go retarded early and we spot them two goals, then we're in this game despite how awful the Cyclones-and especially their power play-were..
3 local hockey legends were in attendance at the game last night.
Blaine Stoughton of the WHA Stingers (one of only 2 players to score 50 goals in a single season in both the WHA and NHL), radio man extraordinaire Andy MacWilliams and former Stinger Director of Player Personnel Jerry Rafter. |
