As some of you may have been told, 666 will be AWOL pretty soon. There's good news and bad news.
BAD NEWS:
HECKLERFROMHELL swore into active duty with the U.S.Army today 2-27-09. I will be headed to Ft. Sill, (Lawton, OK) for basic training for 9 weeks, followed by 7 weeks of AIT (Individual Training) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The job I wanted was not available, so I signed a 2-year active, 4-year Reserve contract. I will be an 89A (Ammunition Stock & Accounting Spec). From what I have read and been told, I will get to play with missiles. I intend to re-enlist after 1 year (either with this job or another) as I do not want to be reserve. I plan on spending 20 years in the Army and retiring. I do have to pass an Orthopedic consult for my feet on Mar. 10 before I am for sure going, but it shouldn't be a problem. We will see what happens, but doesn't DRILL SGT. HFH 666 sound good??
GOOD NEWS:
I will not miss the end of the season unless we go pretty deep into the playoffs. I was told earlier this week, I would be shipping in mid-March. My shipping date is Apr. 28th. I get out of AIT the first week of September and have about 4 weeks off till I report to wherever I am stationed. I will know where that is sometime in August.
I have made a lot of great friends and many more acquaintances the past few years and I thank each and every one of you for putting up with me. Some of you really like me, and some of you may not be able to stand me, but I hope that every one of you respect the love I have for the team we all cheer for...our CINCINNATI CYCLONES!
In the following weeks, I may be walking around USBA to say goodbye to everyone. Unfortunately, I do not know everyone here on this board. If you do see me, PLEASE, let me know who you are here on Sec. 60.
As far as my "Heckler" gear goes, I do not plan on selling it at this point. I really wouldn't care if someone else goes and takes my place. Hell, I've been accused of mimicking Chris, the old HFH from the Gardens. Yeah, it may seem that way. But to lay the beaten horse to rest, I had a HFH 666 jersey in Minnesota at Gopher hockey games in 1997 and 98. I didn't wear the mask, pads, or gloves, and didn't even sit near the glass. I was just another drunken college kid in the stands.
Again, THANK YOU to everyone. Jim, thanks for giving us a place to rant and discuss our beloved Cyclones. Everyone knows it blows "HACKER'S GRAVE" away! They always said, USBA is the place teams go to die in this town, well, we all know that HG is the only place crack heads have access to on the net, where the bulls go to SH*T, and the insane are institutionalized.
Good luck to everyone in whatever it is you do. I will always be watching, or listening when I can. I will continue to post when I can, and who knows....when on leave, there may just be some crazy ass, middle-aged, CYC WARD escapee in section 121, row A, seat 3 beating the tar out of the glass and reeking havoc on opposing goalies. |

They really let you in
Perhaps we are planning to unconditionally surrender.
Seriously, you're a trip, buddy. You definitely have added to the experience of Cyclones games. Also, I've enjoyed hanging with you in the smoking area and our trip to Cleveland to watch players who didn't play.
Glad to here that you have a few extra weeks of freedom. Cleveland on me Sunday if you want. Call me or I guess I'll see you at the game on Saturday. |

| WOW, Heckler in the army. Well, it it the new army- don't ask, don't tell. Anyway, feel free to stop by where we sit and say good-bye. Now we have to audition some new person to do the "safety dance" after we score. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yeah Joe, they actually let me in. I'll miss all your ranting in the smoking area....NOT. As far as Sunday goes...momma said I could go, so I'll be at your place at noon or we'll talk about it tonight.
Wes, my fellow street team member, I may not ask anything, but you know damn well, I tell all. You and KRL take care. You have been great friends. Maybe get "Will Call" to dance to Soulja Boy, but the safety dance is all yours buddy!! |

| Sorry to hear your going away HFH, but good luck and serve the country proud. As far as you gear goes maybe someone on here can offer you something for it and the hang it over the sign in front of Section 60. Just an idea for anyone that might be interested. |

HFH, Good luck. You don't know me but I am Dayton fan that reads this board as well as Daytons, but from me and I am sure many Dayton fans we wish you well and understand the sacrifice involved with the decision to serve one's country.
You were passionate about the game of hockey and hopefully will be able to attend games where you are stationed and make it back to Cinti for games in the future.

"Perhaps we are planning to unconditionally surrender."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...damn Joe, have some RESPECT for our HFH, and his ability to probably INTIMIDATE, or provide entertainment for the enemy at best lol
Either way Heckler....you definitely do bring another full idea to the game we all love to attend, and appreciate the sacrifice of time, away from family and friends, your gonna to do, but you'll be back before you know it, and you can take up your place when your finished.
Good luck. |

"The job I wanted was not available"
Well... I think I know what the army has planned for you... You will be the New sound the troops hear in the morning! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... GET THE HELL UP! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
But seriously, you WILL be missed! I hope that you will "stop by" and keep in touch when you can. I wish you the best of luck.
I say we take your gear and hoist them into the rafters! And retire "666" in tribute!

Wow, am I also surprised. You've been a great fan to this team & your enthusiasm will probably not be replaced. I'll be sure to look you up either tonight or whenever I'm there. If I can't, please be safe & know that we're all proud of you for what you are doing.

I was thinking of "Stripes". Would you be the Bill Murray or Harold Ramis character? |

| Heckler, wow, I don't know what to say. You have been a true "staple" at Cyclones games for some time now. I have fond memories of both you AND Chris, while not at the Gardens but downtown during the IHL days. Just like how Mitts announced it last night ... from Section 60 down to Heckler From Hell. It is also entertaining to see what fans of the opponent think when they hear the "human goal horn". A buddy of mine who sat next to you at one of the playoff games in Dayton two seasons back always still talks about it. You've met be before, but I don't know if you remember, back then I probably introduced myself as Sonic from the CincySports board back when we both posted on there. If you'll be there tonight, I'll be sure to stop down. You'll be greatly missed. |
