Vague heading, I know
I heard from someone on Friday that the Bombers will be making an announcement tommorrow. He did not say what the reason for the announcement was. His source is highly connected within the Bomber's organization. I find this article (and its timing) interesting in light of what I have been told about Monday's announcement.
http://www.vindy.com/news/2009/mar/21/options-surface-for-hockey-at-chevy-new-turns/
The city is also discussing the potential relocation to Youngstown of a professional team in the ECHL, a high-level minor league, to Youngstown, said Mayor Jay Williams and Brian McKenna, the league’s commissioner.
Also, a team from the ECHL — formerly known as the East Coast Hockey League — is looking to relocate to Youngstown.
Williams and McKenna declined to disclose which team.
If Youngstown wants an ECHL team for next season, McKenna said a deal needs to be finalized in a few days.
“We’re at the 11th hour,” he said. “The window is closing fast.”
I hope my inferences are not true. I hope that there is no announcement whatsoever tommorrow and that I look silly for having posted this. It would be a tremendous loss to the loyal fans of Dayton as well as the loss of our chief rival.

Phoenix, as I have heard, is out at the end of this season, not folding but being kicked out of where they play. possibly this is who is reported in the story. I hope it isn't Dayton (I like the close rivalry). Maybe their announcement is that they are moving to Hobart for next season. Only time will tell.

Probably not Utah. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

just what we need...assuming dayton is sticking around, the last thing we need is for phx to relocate to the american division, north division. with the return on toledo that would give the north more teams than the entire national division....
it would suck to have dayton relocate, as somebeach pointed out, it's great to have a rival so close....
i guess we'll find out on monday.... |

There are at least 5 inactive ECHL franchises floating around... anyone of them could be reactivated to go to Youngstown (Who wants to go to Youngstown anyways...its like Cleveland with less charm!).
As much as I love to bash Dayton...we need them and they need us. Its a quick non-overnight (read: cheap) road game. Hopefully its just an announcement saying they will be leaving the Nutt House to Hobart or my personal favorite, Hera. |

| Yes hopefully it is to announce they are leaving Nutter, and their plans to build downtown are going forward with groundbreaking today. |

That announcement is dated February 18th. I did a Google search for news releases and found nothing of interest released today. |

Sorry to have caused anybody any concern with my "sourced info." This is the first time that this individual's info hasn't been accurate.
As I originally posted, I hoped that I'd look silly by posting this. Silly I am. |
