Each team is allowed 21 skaters and 2 goalies. Unless injuries, suspensions or call ups reduce the number of skaters to 15, there can be no additions. 2 Goalies can always be on the roster.
I think these are the no brainers:
Defense: Denis, O'Hanley, MacElroy, Couglan, Miller and Salekin (6)
Forwards: Faulkner, Kilpatrick, Eghoetz,Syroczynski, Sproat, Van Guilder, Johnson, Petit (8)
Probables: Rank (F), MacDonald (D), MacKenzie(3)
That would allow for 4 more spots to be taken by: Dietrich(F), Krug (F), Dias (F), Woll (D), Quesnele(D), Scero(F), Wyman(D/F),and a possibility of, yes, Conrad Martin (D). He either is available or not and Weber would know. If he's on the roster, then we'll know the answer to this one.
Martin's season is over in Austria (I think) and he would be eligible for the playoffs. I don't think that Wyman, MacKenzie, Rank or MacDonald were on the playoff rosters for their AHL teams, so they all could be available by game 4 of the first round.
Of the 4 spots that I think are "open", I'd pick Martin (if available), and I would be hard pressed on the others!! Probably Woll, Wyman and the last would be either Quesnelle or Dias. Probaly Dias. Krug hasn't impressed me and Dietrich is a tough one to leave off because of his effort and use on the penalty kill. I think that Weber will probably put him on the roster.
Who do you guys think should be on/off? And am I missing anyone who is eligible (except Santorelli who is just plain terrible)? |

| Mackenzie i dont think was on the in residence roster, Rank and MacDonald will return when Portland is either eliminated from the playoffs or they do not make the playoffs, Wyman if Hamilton gets eliminated, Martin would be a tough call even if his season is over, Dietrich for sure, Scero if he is healthy and Dias. Everything comes down to what happens in the A to get our more veteran guys back i think |

from what coach said at numerous coach's shows and the most recent season ticket holder dinner, we can't expect much help from the AHL.
joey ryan is said to be going home when toronto's season is over.
rank and macdonald are question marks with portland currently in a playoff position and while not listed on portland's clear day list they are still playing because of the emergency provisions the AHL allows for. portland has been depleted by injuries on their roster as well as up in buffalo...
the only person in hamilton that is healthy and eligible would be wymann. the bulldogs have been playing well and i don't foresee an early playoff exit for them.
milwaukee has mckenzie, werner and santorelli. the admirals are squarely in the playoffs and their NHL affiliate, nashville, is plagued with injuries and is fighting to claw thier way into the playoffs. so i'm not expecting much out of them....
goalies: nie, lacasse
forwards(10): van guilder, ehgoetz, kilpatrick, faulkner, syroczynski, sproat, petit and johnson - these guys are no brainers to me. i'd take dietrich simply for his hustle and PK work. i'd also through dias into the mix; i liked what i saw out of him briefly this weekend and because we can't be sure if help will be sent our way at any point.
defensemen(8): mcelroy, salekin, st.denis, o'hanely, miller, coghlan, those are the obvious. i'd also take woll and quesnelle. woll is physical and when he keeps it simple is more than capable. quesnelle is a smaller puck moving d-man and much like dias, i have to add him because i'm not sure where the help will come from.
that leaves me with room for 3 more:
mckenzie - while milwaukee is in the playoffs, nashville isn't and injuries to nashville is a big reason ian got called up to begin with. once nashville gets eliminated, logic would serve that we get him back.
krug - he's here....
scero - he's here, assuming he's healthy. i actually like what i saw out of santorelli. he had good footwork and saw the ice well but he wasn't here for any stretches long enough to develop chemistry with his linemates so i'm taking someone who's been here all season over mark...no if the paperwork can get screwed up so we can get mark's brother mike, then give me m. santorelli hahaha
ok, so here's my footnote...i picked these based on the surface info that i have and therefore left guys like ryan, macdonald, rank, werner, and wymann off my list. i'm sure chuck has a wealth of knowledge greater than what we have available. i'm sure if we had access to his info our lists would look a little different....

| After I saw this thread I googled a bit and if I read what I found correctly... Conrad is done for the year in Austria because his team won the championship there last week. Or maybe I misread it? |

I did the same thing. Seems to me his season is over in Austria. After the Championship and the partying it's usually the off season.
Since Martin may retire at the end of the year, it would be pretty cool to leave with 2 championships in the same season.
One note to Elvis: Werner wouldn't be available to us because he didn't play 5 games here. |

| I changed my mind on my 3 last picks-assuming Martin makes a suprise return. I'll definitely take Dias. Woll's out and I take Quesnelle instead. I'd also roll the dice on Wyman. I'd leave out: Krug, Woll, Dietrich and Scero. If Martin doesn't come back then I'd add Dietrich. |

this is the same as our regualr season roster, so either the echl hasn't updated anything yet (which would be typical) or chuck is going with the guys we have because there is no help coming back our way from the ahl.
if this correct, all i can say is "damn i'm good." i missed lynch but all indications i had indicated that he was out for the duration of the season... |

| I would guess that Chuck thinks "lets do this without them" meaning the AHL teams help, I'm certain that any of the current called up players would want to help Chuck but there has always been a love-hate relationship with our affilates and Chuck has had to overcome them. As for our current roster, Johnstown faced them, not such a good turn out for them. I would believe that the current team the way that they are playing could face downjust about any team and we took several games from the league leaders with nearly the same group.....I had a weird feeling with 5 min left to go in the last regular season game....almost the feeling I had when I realized that we were going to win it all, no predictions....just a feeling of confidence |

This makes me certain that this isn't the playoff roster.
They were due to be submitted at 3pm today. I doubt that the info would have been out before 3:40 (the time of ChazyG's post). |
