| Chuck wouldn't use a roster spot for Lansdowne. He'll be the EBug and EBugs don't have to be included. |

Maybe he's surprising us
The league has to approve each playoff roster. Given that the same guy does that, updates the web site, cleans the bathrooms etc. at the ECHL HQ, it might take until tommorrow to get the roster info. |

| Yeah I think Chuck would have included Rank or MacDonald since if Portland doesnt make it or even Buffalo doesnt make it and people start filtering on down. Mackenzie definatley should have been on that list so i think that was just a end of regular season roster because they didnt have Desjardin or Daoust at the conclusion of the regular season last year and they were on the playoff roster. |

Plus being a Ebug you can't play unless the other goalie is truly hurt or if they sign Lee to a contract. I don't see Coach Weber making 1 goalie play all 16 games. |

i figured something was up too...so i guess i'll have to wait to see how my psychic abilities pan out....
i'm sticking with my original picks...there is just too much going on at the nhl/ahl roster level for us to count on any of the call-ups to return. chuck has the inside track so i'm sure we'll find out tomorrow...
mckenzie would be the most likely call-up to get put on, but with the injuries to nashville and the related call-ups effecting milwaukee it's hard to say what to do with him.
oh and hrc, i knew there was a reason that i thought werner was available to us; players on 2-way ahl/echl contracts have to play 5 games at the AHL level to be eligable. it's a weird rule for sure, but it is the rule... http://www.echl.com/cgi-bin/mpublic.cgi?action=show_news2&cat=1&id=18453 |

If I'm not mistaken Lee played a game or two last year and didn't do badly. While it certainly wouldn't be an ideal situation, he could spell our starter. The following link/excerpt clarifyies the EBUG situation.
http://www.echl.com/cgi-bin/mpublic.cgi?action=show_news2&cat=1&id=18453
"If in the event of injury, illness, recall or suspension by the League, a team is reduced to less than two goaltenders and 16 skaters, the team may sign amateur players under emergency conditions. Goaltenders that served as an emergency backup in the regular season may be used if they started out on the club’s roster as an emergency backup. Emergency backup goaltenders will not count toward the 23-man limit and may play at any time.
When the emergency conditions have ended the amateur player or goaltender must be removed from the roster."

Am I reading the rule the same as you are? That a player who has a two-way contract is eligible for the ECHL playoffs if they've appeared in 5 AHL games even if they haven't played any ECHL games. |

If they can play anytime why do team allow one of their regular goalies to get lit up like a X-mas tree and don't put in the EBug? Like the game and I think it was Nie getting Lit up and they didn't but Lee in and I went to a Bombers/Johnsontown game(when we were down south) and J-town had the Ebug and Dayton was blasting this poor guy and they didn't put in the EBug. When your goalie is giving up 5+ goals and can't stop a beachball what is it going to hurt putting in the EBug when it is 7 8 9 to 0? The only thing it hurts is your own goalies confidence and pride. That's just my 2 cents |

as it is written in that release that is what it sounds like...
seems kind of weird to me....i would imagine that it applies to players, like werner, who have had the 2-way portion of their contract kick in, not guys who are 2-ways but never get assigned to the echl...i'm not certain though. |

The ECHL site has a small article stating that ALL playoff rosters have been "submitted" but that they wouldnt be released to the public until TUESDAY, because they have to verfiy the players, etc.
Makes sense. I think we are still waiting to see who is in, and who is out. |
