Looks like this is official since this is on the website its good to see santorelli back and the vets that are back. With this roster we can go far i think because of people like Ehgo, Chico, TJ, and MacDonald from last year, and Rank is a good echl vet, this is the best roster we could ask for

I can certainly live with the Playoff Roster. The only question is when are we going to see (if at all) the AHL guys. Milwaukee "should" do very well in the Calder Cup run whereas Portland is a real question mark (not to mention who is or is not on their playoff roster).

Even without the AHL guys we have won with the guys that are here and I believe we are peaking at the right time.

No Martin. Oh Well. It was wishful thinking.

Wyman is on Hamilton's playoff roster and has been logging a fair amount of ice time. Also, Hamilton could go deep into the playoffs.

I'm a bit surprised (and disappointed) about Santorelli over Dias. I'm thinking that giving this spot to an affiliated player is just one of those prices one must pay for the benefits of affiliation. Anyway, only 16 dress per game. If Santorelli doesn't play well (if he plays at all) against Wheeling, then he could be watching from the stands.

receiving santorelli from milwaukee is big because it does give us an extra forward in the 1st round; assuming no other help is sent down (players assigned to us after the start of a playoff round are not eligble to play until the start of the next round). i would guess either santorelli or dietrich will be the healthy scratch.

looking at the nhl and ahl standings there is a slim chance we see rank and macdonald before thursday; buffalo's 2 losses over the weekend make them a long shot for the playoffs so there is a good chance they may start dumping players back to portland which would probably send rank and macdonald back our way. nashville is still in the thick of battle for the 8th playoff slot and battling injuries, so it's hard to say if mckenzie will be back for the start of the wheeling series.

in my guess at the playoff roster i took scero and krug because they were here, i'm guessing chuck had some intel from both milwaukee and portland indicating that mckenzie, santorelli, rank and macdonald would be back sooner rather than later. personally, i'm interested to see what santorelli can do, during his two stints here during the season, he spent more time driving back and forth than he did practicing with the team...i liked his footwork and vision but he never seemed to mesh with his linemates as well as he could have...we'll see

I personally think if santorelli spent more time here he would have had more point production then in the A, he would be in the same boat as ian but ian spent more time here and did alot better here then in the A in terms of production and how he was used

I hope Santorelli surprises me. Some guys can perform at our level and can't do much in the AHL. Santorelli had 7 or 8 points in 50+ games at Milwaukee. I think he had 4 pts in 6 games here. My impression of him wasn't highly favorable, but Elvis77 made a very valid point about his lack of practice time here and his unfamiliarity with his linemates.

Rank, MacDonald and MacKenzie were not on their respective AHL team's Clear Day (playoff) Rosters. While those lists aren't etched in stone and can be effectively changed, they do provide a pretty good glimpse into where players stand in the eyes of the organization. I would think it highly probable that we see all of these players in uniform by the series-clinching game 4 (next Wednesday) of the Wheeling series. If not, the guys who got us here can certainly get us to the next round.

That's funny. Me too. Don't know why. Could have been the association of the large crowd with last year's huge Cup clinching crowd. Could have been what I was seeing on the ice. Not sure.

Ok, Im confused. hrc666 just touched on it, however, what happens when players like Dietrich, Martin, McKenzie, some of which are on the playoff roster, some that are not, come to the team? I know if they are on the team, its all go. What about the players that arent on the list? How is it that they can be added AFTER the playoffs start?

Is this what was mentioned earlier, about how if they are added, they just have to sit until the next round starts?

the only players that will be available to play against wheeling will be the ones that are assigned to us before the start of the series. if a player is assigned after the start they are not eligible until the next series starts....

Unless the number of skaters (non goalies) dips below 16 due to injury, recall or suspension-which is highly unlikely-then this is our final roster.

There will be no more additions. Unless I completely misunderstood the rules regarding playoff rosters.
