Well that was pretty much terrible. They had so many good chances but the dump and chase isn't working. Chuck needs to try another strategy to get into the zone.

Nie was solid but the D was still leaving him with odd man rushes regardless if they got back or not.

I think JJ and Salekin waited way too long to try and get scrappy though, if they wanted to get scrappy they should've done it right after the goal to get the momentum going even more, but thats just me.

Anyway, I say Clones in 6 still but I think its gonna be a long long game tomorrow unless the guys turn the burners on.

I agree with everything you said except the Clones in 6. In my honest opinion, it's gonna take a miracle. If my tickets weren't paid for already, I would just assume stay home tomorrow. Don't think I can sit through another stink-bomb again.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

XcloneiacX, I admire your optimism about the 'Clones in six. I actually predicted them in 5 before the series started. But realistically speaking I have not seen one thing that makes me think they can hang with Wheeling at all.
I'm not throwing in the towel and I still have faith in Chuck. But it looks like we are seeing the Wheeling that pretty much dominated our division the first half of the season until like us, they got bit by the call-up bug. Now they have those players back and their AHL experience is showing. At this point, the Cyclones are simply being dominated.
Hey Bags, maybe playing Johnstown in another series may not have been such a bad thing after all :<)

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

all I can say is that if we dont come up with something in Wheeling im going to have a hard time forgiving this team... it pisses me off that we win the division, get the #1 seed, and then drop two stinkbombs to the Wheeling Failures!!! WE ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!!!

We were flat out out played tonight. End of story. Wheeling is playing above themselves and we are playing way below ourselves.

On the plus side of things.... the kid that dropped the first puck was really cute. Thats about it.

I hope for a much better effort on the road.

Maybe 7 more games against Johnstown would have been better !First,
JJ,you've done a great job trying to change from goon to forward-
Wheeling has found the answer.Their strategy is let you skate as much
with the puck and just pester the hell out of you.As long as no one
lays a stick on you (slash style),no penalties are being called. They
trip you, hold you even hit you in the back, but no calls are made. The
three most useless players on the ice are Faulkner,Miller and
Santorelli.Faulkner can't stay in a faceoff,Miller makes great passes
to Wheeling players and Santorelli seems to always have the puck on
his left when the goal is to the right.I'll take Ferazzoli over any
of these three.I like Bullseye BBQ sauce for my crow but my fork says
the Cyclones are done. Thanks for a great season boys.

A lot of fans I know, even the diehards, have given up. While you can't really blame them, I have not. The Clones are capable of coming back on the road just like they did all regular season, but the play of these last two games is nothing close to encouraging. In the second, Darling had lost his stick and one of our players who escapes me at the moment shot it high in his glove. That really sums up the series so far from my perspective. Abysmal scoring opportunities. And I just have no idea what the power play units are doing. On the second from last PP of the game, the only thing we can produce is two shots from Quinsele (sp)? Completely frustrating. On the positive side, another very nice crowd. Also, what is up with McElroy being scratched? Not exactly the best time.

Go Clones!

I have one more thing to say...

TAKE GERARD OUT! I say sit him out a game and throw TJ back out. Gerard lost the puck out of the zone more times than keeping it in and his D play was average at best tonight. The guy has the capability he just wasn't using it.

Wheeling is playing well and Darling has taken on the form of Patrick Roy.

I thought that our effort was there and that we generated a fairly good amount of scoring chances. The boys just couldn't finish tonight. Or last night.

I think we've hit a good old-fashioned scoring slump. So many shots were off target tonight. By 5 feet sometimes. This team performed magnificantly down the stretch to capture first place and they may just going through a 'flat' stetch.

A win Saturday puts us right back into the thick of it. Hopefully the furstration that was apparent (due to the scoring difficulties) doens't get inside the boys' heads. Tommorrow is the ultimate gut check. A few early goals and an early lead could very well spell the end to what I see as nothing more than an offensive slump.

I think Coach Weber may want to file a protest to the league office. This Curtis Darling did not play in five regular season games.

Don't count your guys out. Darling's bound to cool off at some point, and the Cyclone offense is way too potent to be in a prolonged funk. I'm certainly happy to see my team headed home with a 2-0 lead, but I'm far from comfortable.

If you see anyone walking around in a gold Andrew Lord jersey tomorrow night, that's me. Feel free to say hello. I'd like to think I'm pretty easy to get along with.

Miller had a tough game...Syro is still flat out not working hard enough. Good effort last night - you can't argue that. Wheeling looks a lot like the Clones of last year. Small and very fast. We appear to be out of their league. I say Wheeling takes this in 5. I hope not but have a very bad feeling after watching them skate circles around us last night.

Wheeling most deffinitly outplayed the Cyclones on just about all levels. They were a team on a mission and they played as such.

Maybe I am seeing things a bit differant than others here..........but what I saw from our team (with an exception of a few!) is a lack of confidence in thier own skills!!! Unfinished checks and off target passes; unity as a team; failure to keep the sticks on the ice and moving during penalty kills; and simple lack of control when charging up the ice! It almost seemed to me that our guys, our team, OUR CYCLONES did not believe enough in themselves to complete against Wheeling.

I hope they find a BIG BOOST of Confidence on the road trip and that last night was not our last home game.
THEY DO HAVE THE SKILLS that they need to turn things around.......they just have to find that belief in themselves that they CAN!!!

I BELIEVE THEY CAN DO IT!!!!!

I too understand why some may feel that this series is lost, but why? I too have felt that some players look at times to just be going through the motions, hoping to get back to their homes, etc, but can we really blame them?

I think that 2 games can EASILY go our way, just as they did for Wheeling. Im sorry, but if WHL was such a great team, why did they SQUEEZE into the playoffs? Not to take away from them, but they had 1st place for a while, and just dropped off the face of the division.

We are Champs. We are not the same team as 07-08, but this team showed a dramatic change around early-mid February, and started playing very well. Then, this goalie juggling situation came about where everyone seems to think there should be a back-and-fourth, turn taking scenario for Nie and Lacasse, and I dont agree with it. Loic, although a GREAT guy, played horribly the 1st half of the season. Nie came in and became the glove everyone wanted (given how we had the goalie-God, CedricD, last year), got 20+ wins, and now, he's a #2, half-rate goalie?

Players go through slumps, as HRC666 pointed out, this may very well be just that.

There is so much more hockey to play. Its the playoffs, so we cant afford another game like last night, or Thursday, however, I BELIEVE in my Cyclones, and I believe each and every one of them WANTS to win.

And that'll start...................tonight at 7:35pm.

Loyal Cyclones fan since 1993
