Bring on South Carolina!!!!! They beat Florida 4-3 in overtime. And thanks to all the fans who came in the chat room. We had at one time 15 people. We also had the Florida and south Carolina announcers say hello to us and the South Carolina broadcaster even mentioned section 60 (your welcome, Jim). Hope to have a packed house for game 1 at Sluggers on Saturday night.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

South Carolina had a good series with Florida. From what I heard and saw they were the better team in the series. Florida's downfall was the loss of Anton Khudobin (their #1 goaltender) to Houston (AHL) with about a month left in the season. Malcolm Cameron had Khudobin last year in Texas as well and intended to ride him to the Kelly Cup. David Leggio is a able goaltender, but not of the same caliber.

So we get the Stingrays. Their team has more of the guys from last year's team than ours which has to help them (revenge factor). Their goaltending has been upgraded from last years' Davis Parley who was pretty much Swiss Cheese.

What do we have... well, one, a hot goaltending tandem. Nie is the hot hand and Lacasse is ready to redeem himself after the Elmira series. Two, we are rested and should be injury free. Kyle Rank was put on the 3 day IR today but Jake Dietrich is an able replacement (defensively). Three, we are on a hot streak (especially on the road) whereas SC has to be doubting themselves after allowing two goals to tie game 6 in 90 seconds. Fourth, I think we can muscle them around and wear them down to increase the fatigue factor for them.

In any case it should be a great series that the Cyclones will take in six.

I look at this series on paper and it's very hard for me to really form any definitive opinion. I only saw SC play once (in Dayton) and they seemed fairly quick and skilled, but definitely didn't appear to be a juggernaut.

The offenses appear to be similarly balanced and about as productive. The defensive statistical edges would go to SC, but our performance since mid January would probably be equal to their's.

Special teams advantages would go to SC based on regular season statistics. In the post season, our PK has been more effective than SC's, but their PP has been far more efficient.

SC beat the Brabham Cup winners this past round, but Florida never seemed to get untracked in the post season offensively and their head coach and owner put the players through a presssure cooker all season with their overzealous desire to win every game. So, their victory may have been the result of Florida's collapse rather than their stellar play. SC was outshot 52-14 in their 4-3 OT series clincher last night-hardly indicative of a command performance by SC. In fact, they were almost certainly very lucky to win.

I can't help but think that Weber is the better coach. Not that Bednar isn't a good coach, but his team was 0-8 on the road in last season's playoffs. Weber teams don't go through streaks like that. Plus, Weber has beaten him head to head although that is tempered by the fact that the Cyclones were completely loaded with superior talent last season.

Home ice means nothing in this series. Our 5-0 road record speaks for itself. By the time that the series starts on Saturday, the Cyclones will not only be well rested, but very well prepared. Travel will be done at a leisurely pace on the first leg and both teams will have to endure the same travel fatigue in travel legs thereafter.

Our team has also demonstrated character that can't be overlooked. The four game regular season-ending winning streak to win the division. The last 4 weeks of the regular season when a playoff berth wasn't even assured. The 3 road wins and game 7 double OT win over Wheeling. They overcame a 3 goal deficit in game 2 vs. Elmira. The point is, that the Cyclones have responded positively to every gut check so far. And they have had a ton of them. Far more than SC. For this reason, I think that the Cyclones have a very distinct advantage in the intangibles category.

I want to say Cyclones in 6, but I'm on some level confident that we can take the first two in Charleston. So I'll be greedy and say Clones in 5.

I went to sluggers for the first time Friday night and couldn't believe how dumb they are not to have the sound on for the game. There were over 20 people there and had it on only one of the big screens. I'll only be going back there if they actually play it on more screens and have sound.

I would be completely embarrassed to own that place to see customers having to bring in boom boxes/stereos just to listen to the game they are watching on the tv.

I believe its been stated on here several times that they have put the sound on for select games in last years playoffs, however, its overwhelmingly agreed that people would like for Sluggers to put audio on for all games.

I know several people that refuse to go to Sluggers for this reason, but like you pointing out Randy, its their managements call, and their managements loss.

Even when they did have the audio... unless you sat RIGHT BY THE TV, you still couldn't hear it.. Plus... It's a sports bar... not ALL the games on have audio! Yes, it would be nice, but I'm happy there is a place that a bunch of fans can go to watch the game together.

My thoughts exactly. Besides, it's nice to just hang out with friends and just relax.

Feel like I'm having deja vu because Jim posted exactly what I was going to yesterday, but I decided not to stir up a pointless argument. Even if there was audio, it's a sports bar, I highly doubt everyone is going to be able to hear the PBP crystal clear. I'm thankful enough that Slugger's keeps putting the games on, and as somebeach said, just hanging out with the fellow fans.

If Slugger's carries Monday's game, I'll be there instead of Wildman's bar ... it's nothing against him, and I'm glad he's putting the games on, but I'm going to keep supporting Slugger's who have been putting the games on all year.

When you are any sports bar during a big event, the majority of the sound is for that event.

Example: UFC fights at BW3s

It's common sense, especially when you have over 20-30 people at the bar ONLY for a specific game. I went ahead and e-mailed sluggers to get sound going.

If I could tell a bar that over 20-30 people show up for a pay-per-view internet viewing they would easily do it. It's all about $$$ and it seems sluggers just doesn't care.

If they didn't care, they wouldn't be buying the game (which the owner does out of his own pocket) and putting it on all season long. I don't care if you don't like how Slugger's have the games minus the audio, but please, save the redundant "they don't care" comments. The UFC comparison is apples and oranges. I think BW3's are slightly larger than Slugger's, a small sports bar connected to an entertainment complex. And not to mention I think a few more people come out to UFC events than Cyclones (unfortunately). If they didn't care they wouldn't provide the game for the fans. And if the lack of audio was such a big deal as it is to you, the fans wouldn't be showing up, but they do, and keep coming back. It's just not that important to some people. As far as I know, they only have the capability to stream the game from the one TV, and it's a sports bar. You're going to have to try to listen to the game over a bar nearby as well as the other TVs which have other hockey, Reds, etc.
