CINCINNATI, Ohio The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon that forward Kyle Hagel has asked for, and been granted, a release from his ECHL Tryout Agreement with the club.
The Cyclones currently have eleven forwards, ten defensemen and two goalies on the squad. They continue preparations for their season opening game on Friday night (Oct. 16) at Elmira. The game will be carried on 1530-AM The Sports Animal with a 7:30pm faceoff.
Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones open the season at Elmira on Friday, October 16 and after three road games, host their home opener at U.S. Bank Arena against Wheeling on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. There will be a special divisional championship banner raising ceremony prior to that game.

| I think that might be the last cut/release because you can keep 22-23 players |

I wish he would have stayed but OH Well. If he doesn't want to be here Coach did the right thing and let him go. We(I)(no frog in my pocket ) don't want anyone on this team that's going to be a bad seed and break up the team cheimiostery. That's my take on Hagel. I wish him the best. |

| Weber didn't do anything besides release him from his contract, Kyle obviously, has something in the works or needed to go home and Weber wasn't holding him back. Weber spoke highly of him and he would have been a great addition to the team. I wish Kyle all the best, he is a wonderful guy!! |

| Hopefully it is the last of the cuts, however if we are to keep the rest of the players, some of them will need to be put on IR, as you can only have 20 players on the roster. |

| Actually with thta mix, a defenseman will need to make the jump to forward or we'll need to pick up at least one, maybe two forwards. Eleven forwards don't even give us tfour full lines. You typically want to ice four forward lines and three defensive pairings on any given night. We have five defenseive parings and less than four forward trio's. Not the ideal mix. |

| the offical echl rules states that a team can only have 18 players for a game (16 skaters and 2 goalies), this is under rule 5.1 in the offical echl rule book. many teams, cyclones included will list players on the ir list, there are limitations to how many players can be on the list and for how long as well. most teams play 10 forwards and 6 "d" men . |

5.1 Eligible Players - A team shall be composed of 18 players (16 skaters and two goalkeepers who shall be under contract to the Club they represent.
This is from the league rule book. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

No. It's been this number for as long as I can remember.
I wish the league wouldn't cheap out so badly on this number. Allowing 17 (+2 goalies) to dress wouldn't cost much (if anything) and would give a coach much more latitude with benchings and playing goons.

The one problem I see that could happen if you increase roster size is the "extra" player. How many teams would add a "thug or goon" for that extra player.Coach Weber knew last year JJ could only be carried if he could pull his weight in the playing time area. Without that need, JJ made have only came out on the ice to pound someone, take his penalty and go back to the bench. How about a compromise. One evtra player can be added for the third period IF one player is hurt in the 1st or 2nd period. The injured player must be injured and is now out of the game. |

| He might have wanted to stay out west, alot of people in the league like staying in spots they like (ex Ehgoetz loves Cincinnati!!), He also was probably an odd man out and wanted a contract and not a try out |
