back by popular demand...the first goal of the game pool. Watch hockey and maybe win a few bucks.
things went pretty well last season so i'm going to run the pool again, so come on by section 60 before home games and see elvis or bryan to wager a buck on who you think is going to score the first goal of the game.
here's how it works:
the wager is 1 dollar and there is only one wager per person. you may select from players from the cyclones or from the opponent.*
if the player you select scores the first goal of the game you win the pool. if more than one person has selected that player the pool will be divided equally amongst the winners. in the event the pool does not split evenly the winnings will be rounded down and $1 will carry over to the next home game.
if the player to score the first goal has not been selected the pool will roll over to the next home game. YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE A NEW WAGER TO ELIBLE TO WIN.
*if you choose to endure the ridicule that goes along with selecting a player from the opposing team and that player actually scores the first goal of the game, sorry but you fail at life and only win half the pool. the other half will get applied to the section60 pizza party which will occur at some point later in the season at our discretion with out warning.
wagers can be made anytime before the start of the game. wagering will be closed when when the intro music begins.
all wagers are final and are nonrefundable. the only exception is if you select a player that is scratched, you may change your selection. IF THE PLAYER YOU SELECT IS SCRATCHED, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHANGE YOUR SELECTION; I WILL NOT FIND YOU. IF YOU FAIL TO CHANGE YOUR SELECTION YOUR WAGER WILL REMAIN IN THE POOL. so pay attention when they announce the scratches and/or watch warm-ups before wagering.
all pool winners must pick up their winnings by the END OF REGULATION. if regulation ends in a 0-0 tie, winnings must be picked up within 5mins of the end of the OT period or the anouncement of the 3 stars of the game, which ever takes longer. any winning not picked up will be rolled over to the next home game.
should a game end in a 0-0 tie and go into a shoot out, THE SHOOT OUT GOALS DO NOT COUNT and the pool will roll over to the next home game.
i think that pretty much covers it. the rules may change and i'll try to post the changes here. if you have any questions just ask...
and remember, IT'S THE FIRST GOAL OF THE GAME, NOT JUST THE FIRST CYCLONES GOAL OF THE GAME. |
