Cyclones Sign Bryan Marshall, Make Moves
Date: 10/28/2009
CINCINNATI, Ohio The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHLs Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon they have signed forward Bryan Marshall and made additional roster moves heading into the weekend. Marshall, 26, is in his second professional season and went to training camp with Kalamazoo (ECHL) before arriving in Cincinnati. His rookie season was spent with Lake Erie (AHL), where Bryan saw action in 50 games and had six goals and eight assists for 14 points. He also played one game with Johnstown (ECHL) and had a pair of assists. The six-foot, 170 pound native of Livonia, MI, played four seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. At UNO, Marshall played in 147 games and collected 49 goals and 101 assists for 150 points. He notched 43 points (13-30-43) during his senior year to finish fifth in the Central Collegiate Hockey Associations (CCHA) scoring race. Bryan was also selected to the Second-Team All-CCHA squad. He is the second-leading scorer in Mavericks hockey history. In other Cyclones news, center Barret Ehgoetz has been placed on the three-day injured list, defenseman Dwayne Zinger has been transferred to the seven-day injured list, while defenseman Jamie Coghlan and forward Mark Voakes have been assigned to the 21-day injured list. The Cyclones head to Elmira for a showdown with the unbeaten Jackals (5-0-0) on Friday night (Oct. 30). The game is at 7:30pm and 1530 Homer The Sports Animal will have the pregame at 7pm. Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones have selected Friday night games carried on 1530 Homer The Sports Animal and all contests aired on their website at www.cycloneshockey.com. The club returns to U.S. Bank Arena on Thursday, November 5 against Johnstown at 7:30pm.

Does anybody know what is wrong with Coghlan? Voakes is another surprise because he has been on fire this year so far |

He came off the ice limping during the last game.
Coghlan's knee must not be ready to go yet. I don't know what's up with Zinger or Voakes.
Now we need a few call ups and everything will be in mid-season form. |

And about a .300 winning percentage and zero playoff wins dating to 1991.
Whatever. |

I respect your opinion Donnie, but the Bengals have never won an NFL Championship. The Bengals have only been to the playoffs once in the last 19 years, what have the Bengals done for me lately, make everybody pay for their stadium. I am very happy they are doing good this year but until they bring the Lombardi home to Cincinnati they will not be like the Cyclones or the Reds who even though they have not had a winning season in 9 years still have a winning franchise record and 5 World Series titles. |

Bengals are 51-51-1 since 2003. They're playing good football and are one of the top five teams in the NFL this season.
The thing about being a Reds or Bengals fan is there's always next year. You know the team is going to be there year after year.
It's great to see the Cyclones have built a winning program since they returned in 2006, but they are what they are: A low level minor league hockey team with an unstable past and an uncertain future. |

The bengals are also overpaid and always getting into trouble.
You came to the wrong message board to hate on the Cyclones. |

In regards to the low level minor league hockey team comment, I will at least say this; the players on this hockey team give their all night in and night out. No prima-donna's saying look at me ain't I great. They are playing not for the money but for the love of the game. Sure they have dreams of making the show one day and the contracts to go with it but for now they put it on the line for us to enjoy. On top of all of that, I can bring my entire family to Clones game and feed them for the cost of one Bengals ticket. Glad they are doing well but until they sustain their winning ways, it's just a case of a blind squirrel finding a nut. As far as the future of the Clones, if more people would embrace them and understand that while it may be minor league the ownership does what it can to make sure we are entertained for our money.
One more thing before I get off my soapbox, true Clones fan will support this team win or lose and not jump on and off the bandwagon based upon their record. Lucky for us we have consistantly winning franchise. As for the injured players, I hope it is nothing serious and we see them back on the ice sooner than later. |

Players in the NFL put it on the line every game, too. Sure, they make a lot of money but you have to really love football to play it at the highest level.
Cyclones fans are fortunate to have a coach that gets his team to hard every night but there are quite a few players in the ECHL that don't compete on a nightly basis, and that's one of the reasons they're in the league instead of playing at a higher level. |
