Any season ticket holders... If you live in Ohio (not sure about the laws in Kentucky or Indiana), Do NOT install your license plate frame! It covers up the county and registration stickers on your car's license plate, which could be a misdemeanor according to Ohio traffic laws. Just a word of warning. |

They aren't going to give you a misdemeanor, hahaha. If you are super worried about it you can cut the frame or move your stickers. The worse thing that will happen is you'll get a no-fine, no points fix it ticket or just a friendly warning. Tinted license plate covers are more obvious than license plate frames.
You'll only get pulled over for it if the police have nothing better to do. I don't drive with a front plate and have illegal window tint but never get pulled over for it.

It actually falls under 4503.21 (Display of license plates and validation stickers). It is a no-points violation, but does carry a fine or bond. I have the license plate cover on my car, but I have the stickers just above the bottom of the frame.
It is not common to be stopped for it. Randy is correct, it is more common to be stopped for tint on the plates or anything that hampers the relectability of the plates. |
