I just checked ticket*astard and the best available tickets were in 117 up high (corners).
The Cyclones have had crowds of 6430 and 6596 in their two "throwback night" promotions. It appears that tonight's crowd is likely to set a new throwback night record.
The largest crowd for a regular season non Fan Appreciation Night was 8508 for the obama bobblehead last year. I think that there is an outside chance that this total could be exceeded. |

I will go between 9500-10000 I know that may be a stretch but a Friday night, great weather, cheap tickets, dollar food and beer, high schools that dont have football games anymore or dont have playoff games today, 10000 it may happen, but it should be larger then 6500 at least |

I sit behind the goal and I had no problem getting my seats last night for tonight. So my guess is 7500. |

We have half season tickets in section 108 and were told that all the seats on the side were sold. We got tickets in the corner (section 105). Hopefully they will have all concession stands open so lines for the $1.00 items will flow smoothly. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I'm actually surprised there weren't more than that announced. I got there late and didn't walk up until about quarter 'til 8 and saw about 50 people walking BACK toward the parking lots. Finally I asked someone and he said they were told the wait to buy tickets at that time was an hour long. That seemed about right because the line (stretched almost to the parking garage on the other side) was absolutely ridiculous. Luckily my tix were in will call, but I still waited in that line about 15 minutes. The cars to get into the garage were also backed up almost to GABP. Downright bizarre to see. I can't believe with all of those still waiting to get in by that time it didn't end up being even more, but I guess they filled every single spare seat at the bottom. |

Unreal crowd.
I'll guess that at least 1,000 didn't bother staying because of the lines. There were about 1/4 the amount of people walking down the ramp from the the GABP side as there were going toward USBA at 7:30 when I was walking to the arena via that route.
There's not much the Cyclones can do about what happened. They only have so many (13, I think) ticket windows, so it becomes unmanageable at a certain point. That certain point was reached tonight.
The scene was surreal, as Mark pointed out.
USBA shows its design flaws, particularly the concourse and concessions, when it has more than 7,000. Someone suggested that the building is really only suited to hold the lower bowl (7,000). I tend to agree. I hope those who didn't stand in line for tickets (don't blame them) will come back. And I hope those who waited in line for concessions that weren't available aren't put off to the point of not returning.
In any case, the crowd was a wonder to behold.
The game wasn't half bad either |

Seeing the mass of humanity inside and outside USBA last night makes me very happy that I bought my tickets well in advance for last night's game. Excellent crowd! |

jersey average was probably around $375, most going in the $300 to $350 range. the average was pulled up by eghoetz (around $500) snowbird ($500) and hans benson ($600).
the folks at game day said they were packed throughout the game, most likely because after paying to park, those that didn't want to wait in line decided to go there instead. after the game gameday was out of the beer specials (high life and pbr of course).
as people were filing in i couldn't help but thing that the crowd could approach that of KCC game 6. when they announced 10300+, i thought it sounded low, especially when it was noticed that the arena was removing the tarps from the top of the upper bowl. i love the big crowds for the stability of the team, but as others have pointed out it makes concessions and navigating the the concourse very difficult. a couple sitting behind me left with 8 mins remaining in the 1st intermission to hit the restrooms (lines) and get some beer (even longer lines) and didn't get back until 8 mins remaining in the 2nd period.
my advice for games when a big crowd is expected: 1) buy tickets in advance, 2) get there early, around 5:30 and grab a bite to eat at gameday, or at the levee (the levee isn't that far of a walk unless youngsters or the elderly are involved), and 3) if #2 isn't possible, try to get to the arena by 6:15 and wait for the doors to open. you'll be one of the first people in and concession lines are short. |

The arena people need to take a page from The Gardens. Print all the upper bowl seats and sell them first come-first serve. The Gardens use to crank the line through with the only delay in making change. If a crowd looks like in excess of the bottom bowl, do a mass print out and even sell them at the East window. |
