Do they do anything special during the game like explain rules or penalties or is it just to give the school kids a chance to see hockey? I was planning on taking our 3 year old to the game and try to sit close to glass for a change.

yes they do. They also teach them how the Zam works
and a few other things. Good luck hearing tho. LOL with
8,000+ talking and screaming kids it's tough to hear it.

Wow, that many kids!! Thanks for the information, maybe better to take him to the Wednesday night game instead. Probably a better chance to get close to glass. We normally set in the first row of the upper arena for games because we don't have to worry about him accidently hitting someone in front of us.

They do things to attempt to justify a field trip. LOL. Math lessons based on hockey over the video screen, etc. Rules of hockey are also explained via the video board.

The two previous kids games had crowds in the 4000 range. I've heard that there will be more this year.

I went to the last one and it is different! Actually the kids are
better behaved than on a Saturday night game. Teachers were very good
about keeping control of their students (unlike parents with their
kids on normal game nights)and the only real difference is when big
action happens, you really hear them. Look for a few more fights to
rally the crowd and expect pockets of fans everywhere. I chose to
not use my season ticket seats but instead move to an area where other
adult fans had migrated to.

I'll be at the game. I hope that kid in section 120 for the Kids Club game last year doesn't show up. If he's there, I'll move for sure.

I will be there with my wife and her team of students from the school she teaches at. The kids are excited and it should be fun for them.

My sons school 4th - 8th grade will be attending and they have to be in normal uniforms that day. Kinda sucks as Noah was going to wear his jersey but... Oh well. He already has told the kids about the YMCA dance and other things. They are looking forward to this trip.
I will be in Toledo on buisness so I will miss the chaperone opp. Have fun all. Bags, you and the misses know Noah so say hello if you see him. LOL

I thought that I heard Hamel say 9,000 kids during the broadcast tonight.

That is a scary proposition

I'll be going to my first one this year as well. My question is, where do you park? I typically park across from Game Day ... I guess I'll try for the landing.

It's the only time all year that I pay for parking. Boo. If there's no room on the landing, then the east garage charges its normal $4 rate-at least that's how it's been in the past for this game.

I just did a ticketmaster request for tommorrow's game and it came back with tickets in Sec 108 Row H which seems impossible if there are 9000 kids expected. Unless the upper bowl is being utilized.

We shall see.

part of that could be that ticket master sells the best available seats and when selling tix to large blocks of students i'm sure they try to group them together as much as possible. for example, students may be in rows c thru g and there might be season ticket holders in row h so the ticket staff skips row h for the kiddies and starts back up in row i....just a thought

although i just searched for a block of 5 and a block of 10 tix and came back with similar results, sec 108, row h and row j....

Sounds like you heard right...

"The Cyclones will increase their home attendance in their next home game on Tuesday morning (Nov. 17). More than 9000 people are expected for the game against Trenton--which is the most for any regular season weekday in the ECHL in at least a decade."

I have a friend and his daughter coming down tomorrow. As usual,I
couldn't get the seat next to our season tickets, but it always seems
to be empty. My plan is to probably find three seats together in a
somewhat "neutral" kid's zone. Like I said earlier, the last game was
well taken care of by the teachers and helpers. However-you may want
to bring ear plugs if the game really starts getting rowdy!!

Good and Bad
Good-we won, great crowd, kids were well behaved
Bad- 5 on three power play twice (once for 5 minutes) and no score,
empty net breakaway and missed the net, greedy Hamilton County hitting
us with the $10 parking(found $4.50 under Red's stadium) and same high
prices for food(kids must have been allowed to bring in food-good for you
Cyclone's management).
All in all the crowd seemed to have a good time and hope this generates
future fans. Noticed the group in front of us were given a bag from the
Cyclones that at least included a box of pocket schedules. Not sure what
else was included.
