TOLEDO, Ohio Ryan Del Monte delivered a goal and an assist, Mike McLean chipped in with three assists and the Cincinnati Cyclones offense chipped in with three power play goals for a 4-3 win at Toledo on Friday night. The victory propelled Cincinnati into second place in the North Division standings.

The Cyclones scored the lone goal of the opening period when Ryan Del Monte snapped s shot from the slot just inside the right post to net his second goal of the year. The power play goal was assisted by Mike McLean and Barret Ehgoetz. Toledo had opportunities in the opening stanza, including four power play chances and a 1:47 five-on-three advantage. Cincinnati outshot the Walleye, 8-5, in the first frame.

Cincinnati built the lead to 3-1 in the second period. Toledo leveled the scores when Mike Hedden picked hi fourth goal at 9:08. The Cyclones regained the lead when Ehgoetz tallied his third of the season all against Toledoat 14:42. The power play occurred when Ehgoetz stopped at the top of the right circle and slipped a shot between the legs of goaltender Jordan Pearce to take the lead. On the Cyclones next power play, Dustin Sproat re-directed a Mike McLean pass out of the left corner into the Toledo cage, to build the lead to 3-1. Sproat netted his seventh goal of the campaign from the top of the goal crease. The Walleye controlled the shots in the second period, 16-13.

The Cyclones extended the lead to 4-1 when off a faceoff, Bryan Leitch snapped a shot from the top of the right circle past Pearce. Del Monte had the helper on the score. Derek Nesbitt scored the first of his two goals in the period at 7:33 to draw within two at 4-2. Nesbitt's second goal on the power play at 18:41 came with Jordan Pearce off the ice for a two-man advantage. Cincinnati held off a wild rush in the final seconds to preserve the victory. Cincinnati outshot Toledo, 13-12, in the period and 34-33 for the game.

Jeremy Smith picked up his fifth victory by stopping 30 shots. Jordan Pearce lost for fourth time, re-directing 30 Cyclones shots. The Cyclones were three-for-four on three on the power play, while the Walleye were one-for-eight with the extra attacker.

Cincinnati is now 7-6-1, while Toledo is 6-5-3. The teams meet again in Toledo on Sunday at 5:30pm. The game can be heard at www.cycloneshockey.com.
