| Watching Mayer on Friday and hearing Chuck on Saturday it seems Mayer is on the hot seat, yet at the same time he is barely 20 years old he is young and the way he played Saturday before spending almost the entire period on a PP he played not too shaby going a period and a half scoreless which is better then Friday night's, I really want to give him some time but this year is very competitive any thoughts? |

| Depends what you mean by "hot seat" ... he is under contract with Montreal so he isn't going anywhere. As far as playing time, right now it looks like Smith is the superior goaltender, but it is still early as you said, it also took Lacasse a while to turn it around last year, and he did so in big fashion. We'll see. |

He played pretty well tonight. The second goal was soft, but two goals allowed is quite acceptable.
On Saturday it was 5 on 3 stuff and an empty netter.
Friday he should have been shot
The kid moves better out of the net than anyone the Clones have had post suspension. Mayer is very good at firing long passes on the tape.
He's 20 and under contract to an affiliate. Gajewski he ain't. Neither Cedrick or Dov for that matter. I prefer Smith, but as has been pointed out, it's very early and Mayer certainly has every right to improve. |
