Tuesday night's game drew a crowd of 1414, dropping the Cyclones to 14th in the league in attendance. The loss kept the Cyclones at 14 wins on the season. Wildman must be ecstatic.
Of course this all happened in the 12th month, in the Cyclones' 13th home game of the season, on the 15th day of the month. |

Thank you for the fabulous update on the attendance. We all knew the early numbers would fall down and a schedule heavy on weekday games would not help. If you look at the Red's attendance results, you will find their history shows that weekends draw better than weekdays and most of theirs fall in the summer with no next day school. I don't know how much the $2 increase has meant, but past history has always shown ticket raises drop attendance by as much as 500 to 1000 per game. Our honest 1400 does hurt on paper, but some team's inflated numbers just mean that they are hiding the reality of a bad economy and entertainment dollars have to be spent well. $10 parking (I know cheaper is available), $12 seats,$3.75 water,$6 normal night beers do not help for repeat attendance to casual fans. Our usual night: $20 for two tickets, $5 parking, $7.50 for one water and one bottle pop, and $4 for large popcorn. Total cost=$36.50. Do this every game and you have an investment in the team. Now let me go put my Cyclone's tee-shirt and my Cyclone's coat on and show Cincinnati I'm proud of being a Cyclone fan ! |

To "Hockey Traveler"- I was a little hot this mornining after reading some of the pot-shots at our attendance by a few other posters. After looking at your post, you may have just meant fun at the wild "14's" and not the numbers drop. If that was the case-sorry for jumping down your throat. I saw the other week a very convenient number set. One team had a fan attendance of like 3,121 and another team listed theirs at 3122 (one more). Makes me wonder if a little padding was done on the second after seeing the first's ! |

| Hamilton on Tuesday had an attendance of 2063 vs. our 1414. Tuesday night is awful everywhere which is why the AHL has so many three game weekends. Through 13 home games Hamilton averages 4305 and ours is 3788 or only 12% less than the top farm club of the Montreal Canadians. We are less than 7% below the attendance in Milwaukee which is averaging 4060 and if you back out last night we are less than 2% below Milwaukee. |

| Numbers are numbers. Citing numbers is neither a potshot nor a compliment. But I was just having a little fun with the numbers, finding it coincidental that they lined up that way. Although a potshot at Wildman could be inferred by my post, and rightfully so. It's my personal opinion that he's an idiot. |

Cyclone Attendance by the Numbers:
2006-07 1844 avg. 2007-08 2523 avg. 36% increase over prior season. 2008-09 3104 avg. 23% increase over 07-08; 68% increase over 06-07. 2009-10 3788 avg. 69% increase over similar number of games in 08-09.
Ticket revenues are probably close to double what the 08-09 season had generated to this point. Extremely impressive given the state of the economy. And the fact that 7 out of 13 games have been non Fri/Sat dates.
2009-10 numbers to date are 205% (over double) of 06-07's final avg. numbers.
Let's not forget that the Cyclones engage in a very unusual business practice as well: Announcing honest attendance figures.

Unsurprising, the newness of the season has worn off, and as was stated weeknight games are just not good for attendance.
Give it a few weeks. It's a terrible time for hockey traditionally as the weather gets colder (so people don't want to go out at all at first), and people spend more money and time prepping for the upcoming holidays now because of its commercialization...
We don't do Tues or Thurs games in Kalamazoo. We do Wed, Fri, Sat, and Sun. And they try to minimize the Wed dates (we only have one more Wed game between now and March), even if it means 3 games in 3 nights on the weekends. We had a cheap tickets night for Dec. 9th (a Wed.) that everyone was all psyched for, and then the weather conspired to give Michigan its first blizzard of the season that night, so everyone stayed at home and we only drew 2268 on a night tickets were only $3 because there were basically zero walk-ups (which comprise a lot of when there's a good weeknight crowd). It just happens sometimes, no matter what...
I agree Cincy can (and should) do much better for drawing, but it's still not Dayton/Port Huron/Flint/Trenton/Johnstown territory, so no worries. Give it times, guys... especially once football's over. |

Your lack of hockey knowledge is appalling. You never did list match ups on how Dayton would "out pit" the Cyclones.
Apparently, you have difficulty counting as well.
List the 14 players. Oh, you cant. Because there aren't 14 players.
Yet another claim which is both inaccurate and/or unsubstantiated by someone who has nothing better to do than troll a minor league hockey board.
Get a life.

They really don't.
Evidently, Hecklers Grove is officially finished. I quit posting there a while ago and haven't looked over there in quite a while. I just did and it looks like it's all over. No loss.
There are no posts for at least the last month. It seems quite possible that the board owner has disabled posting capability.
It appears that "Hockey Traveller" ('All Cincinnati Hockey is Good' on that dead site) and Hackers Grovels board owner got into a dispute and aired some personal grievances and that was the final straw for the dead board.
The Teamless three now are the boardless 3 and they have decided that it's better to just TROLL another board than to post on an AHL board or some other board.
Note: I give credit to the board's owner for (JQ) for not being part of the pathetic behavior of the other losers. He always did appear to be a reasonable guy. Although I never let on to that opinion when I posted there

| Actually TwoMinutes if you want to be accurate the active roster of the Cyclones has 11 players with AHL game experience Eghoetz, Lacroix, Van Guilder, McLean, Kilpatrick, Del Monte, Benson, Jozsa, Zinger, Motherwell and Jeremy Smith, 5 players are rookies in pro hockey Robinson, Roeder, Voakes, Pierce and Mayer out of those 5, 3 have been called up to the AHL but didnt play, Mayer dressed to back up Desjardins, O'Hanley, Coghlan, Sproat, Krantz, Reynolds, and Sheahan have no AHL game to their credit but are solid ECHL level players and I am sure for some they will get that call. |
