| With the Olympics causing a 2 week break for the NHL, could it be possible that Montreal and Nashville start a trickle down effect sending players down to get more playing time while the NHL is on the break and some of the Hamilton, and Milwaukee players like McKenzie, or Hamilton with St. Denis might find a place in Cincinnati if this happens? During the Olympic break the Cyclones play 8 games so it could be nice but will it happen? |

actually that would be bad if both teams were to send people down since it could possibly put the team over the max roster number and players would either have to be released or put on long term IR.
the team can carry 20 healthy players; 18 dressed and 2 healthy scratches. the team can only have 1 player on 3 day and 7 day IR respectively but can have an unlimited number on 21 day IR. the cyclones currently have 23 players on the roster. voakes and kilpatrick are on long term IR. voakes should be back in the line up soon and killer could be back sometime in january.
do the math. when both killer and voakes become healthy someone will either have to be shelved on the long term IR or waived. the team is playing well as is. sure it would be great to get a guy like mckenzie or st denis playoff eligible but not at the expense of putting a quality unaffiliated player, like sproat, del monte, coghlan or o'hanely on on waivers or on the long term IR. |
