Not because he's playing well-even though he's been "lights out" of late. In his last 6 games (minus the six shot/3goal disaster) he's probably got near or under a 2.0 gaa. The reason for the recall is that Curtis Sanford, the Hamilton back up goalie, got hurt on New Year's eve and will be out two weeks.

Goaltender Curtis Sanford was run over by a Grand Rapids player in the first period and Hamilton coach Guy Boucher said he will be out at least two weeks with a shoulder injury.

could this be the time of year that chuck finds that goalie in the woods like he has done in the past years to push the club over the top. it is great to see robbie and smitty doing so well but with robbie most likely going to hamilton for a couple of weeks now is the time for chuck to go goalie hunting and he has a good track record for finding one hiding in the woods.

From watching him in Kalamazoo he looked very solid. If you can make him move he (like most goalies) has some trouble, but he's strong positionally and tough to beat unless you force him to move some and possibly then leave himself out of position.
