Desharnais' deep slump continues.

... and so do his days as a minor leaguer.
Thanks for the entirely pointless remark, troll.
This is an example of trolling. Pure and simple.
Blah blah, troll this, troll that, whine cry, David Desharnais still isn't in the NHL and everyone who states the truth of the matter is a troll.
Get over it already. Your boy won't be playing regularly in the NHL. Ever. We get it....you saw him dominate at a low level for one season, and you think spewing numbers makes you smarter than all NHL scouts. But until Desharnais is playing on a regular line in the NHL you will continue to be WRONG. Just like you were about the sub-1000 crowds at Cyclones games this season. Just like you were about the USHL being a fading league. Just like you were about Chuck Weber being considered for an AHL Head Coaching position. Etc. Etc.
I was wrong about one Monday night crowd. Alert the media. I've been right in general about the Cyclones attendance turnaround. Check out your dead sandbox (hackers grovel) for verification of this and while at it you can revisit your absolutely pathetic and numerous inaccurate predictions about the demise of the Cyclones and the return of the AHL to the Gardens.
Desharnais is all of 23 years old and is roughly 5th in points per game produced (10th in overall scoring) in the AHL this season. If you honestly think that he'll never get another look in the NHL if his AHL success continues at his current level then you musn't think much of the AHL as a developmental league. Should his chance not occur in Montreal, then it will happen in another NHL city. Also, it's quite interesting that you claim to know what ALL NHL scouts think about Desharnais. Acutally, it's not interesting. It's delusional and pathetic.
I know that facts and statistics bug you, but here are a few about some of your precious defunct Ducks. Kunitz (he of 5 goals in 59 post season games-top6 forward!!LOL) didn't score his first goal in the NHL until he was 26. Ben Guite had all of one career NHL game prior to turning 28. Oh, I know. Useless statistics. LOL.
Weber, btw, has been considered for AHL positions. He just hasn't been hired. Yet. His day will come. Long before hockey returns to the Gardens, that's for sure.
Now why don't you go back to your sandbox and play over there. Oh, that's right. I forgot. Your postings killed it.

Since the point of the original poster was to show us all how cold Desharnais was, it's only to keep on topic that the following be linked:
http://theahl.com/stats/gamebygame.php?id=1795
The "frozen one" is on a 12 game point scoring streak. This, of course, means nothing. It is only a statistic. And we are so fortunate on Sec60.com to have not only one, but two hockey experts who can assure us that no level of performance by DD in the AHL will result in future NHL appearances. These experts know the entirety of the thinking of ALL NHL scouts, coaches and general managers. Insiders at the deepest levels these two gurus are. LOL.
We are truly blessed to have their expertise. All at no cost.
But, then again. Ya get what you pay fer. |

hrc666 keeps wanting to compare Chris Kunitz to David Desharnais, which is quite laughable because the only thing they have in common is they both play hockey. Kunitz is bigger, faster, stronger, better skater, better at winning loose pucks, better along the wall, harder to knock off the puck, better defensively. You can't play in the NHL if you're undersized (something Desharnais cannot change) and not a great skater (Desharnais can get stronger on his skates, but he's still not going to have the speed to play in the NHL based on the kind of player he is).
Just as no NHL organization was impressed with the points he racked up in the QMJHL and ECHL, no NHL team is going to be impressed with the numbers he puts up in the AHL. Montreal just lost their leading scorer for 6-8 weeks. Did they call up Desharnais to replace him? No. They didn't because Bob Gainey and Jacques Martin -- both a little smarter than hrc666 -- know he cannot play in the NHL. The only reason he played in one game (less than eight minutes) earlier this season was because Montreal had eight players out with injuries and had to call him up out of necessity.
How has racking up points in the AHL worked for undersized guys like Keith Aucoin and Darren Haydar? Who, by the way, are both better skaters and all-around players than Desharnais.
Perhaps hrc666 should have been a player agent. He's got a lot of Scott Boras in him. I could see him telling 29 NHL teams after Montreal cuts him loose there's a lot of interest in his pint-sized client and to make their best offer now.
Worth noting is the caliber of play in the AHL isn't as good now as it was five years ago. There aren't as many veteran players with 300, 400, 500-plus games of NHL experience in the league as there were before the lockout. A lot of AHL teams don't have more than three or four players that qualify as veterans in the league. Most teams used to have 6-8 on the roster. |

Muck muck, muddle muddle. More irrelevant crap about another message board, the Gardens, and a hockey team that hasn't played here in almost 5 years. Oh, by the way, I can't seem to find any of those statements on that other board to which you are referring. Please go dig them up and post them here for all to see. I'm sure everyone is SOOOOO interested in that.
Getting back on topic, a place you can't seem to stay, your Kunitz and Guite analogies are no better than my Biggs analogy from months ago, which you conveniently dismissed as "rife with logical and situational flaws" just because you said so. What are you, 6?
Here, let me refresh your memory:
When Don Biggs was 23, he was leading the Hershey Bears in scoring with 103 points, and came back with a 92 point season the next year. At 24, he finally got the call to Philadelphia, and appeared in 11 games with the Flyers that year, scoring 2 goals. Biggs never played in another NHL game despite going on to lead the AHL one season with 138 points, and averaging 87 points over 12 consecutive seasons in the AHL and IHL.
Pick away. |
