Sometimes a fan just really likes a player and since it is for charity will spend the money.

Exactly. That, and I wouldnt be surprised if alot of the clones jersey buyers dont really care about the NHL or dont have any players they like in the NHL that they can afford. Some clones season ticket holders i know dont follow the NHL at all, and only know the household names, and they dont really have 7K to fork out for a Brodeur/Ovi type name.
