Saw this on the Cyclones Website:

Important Note about this weekends games:
Due to activities for the Flying Pig Marathon, some roads around U.S. Bank Arena will be closed. The Northbound lanes of Old Broadway will be closed, as well as Pete Rose Way West of the Taylor Southgate Bridge. The Pete Rose Way exit ramp from Third Street will be open allowing access into the Great America Ballpark Garage and the Southbound lanes of Old Broadway leading to Mehring Way. All lanes of Mehring Way will be open.

I thought the race was on Sunday. How does this effect Saturday's game?

Apparently there are activities on Saturday. I'm not sure why they'd have the streets closed that early. Just reporting what I saw on the Cyclones Website. If anyone has more info, please share.

I see that there are marathon-related events scheduled for Saturday, but it doesn't look like anything that would necessitate all of those road closures Saturday evening. I could be wrong though, so please don't quote me on this. Normally, the road closures for a race like this happen very early in the morning on the day of the race (Sunday). I'm not 100% sure on any of this mind you.

From what is mentioned in the above message, it sounds as if that little stretch of Pete Rose Way between the REDS Stadium Garage and the Bridge is what is closed on Saturday. My guess is to have things setup for the FINISH area for the Race on Sunday. (Just a guess)

Sounds that if you come down the exit ramp from the Pete Rose Way exit ramp, you should be able to go straight to Mehring Way, and turn Left to get back over to Pete Rose Way. (Again, my interpretation of the message above)

I work downtown and I am assigned to park in the East garage just by the Arena. As I was driving out of there tonight, Pete Rose Way from the 2nd street ramp to Broadway was closed (the stretch of road which runs parallel to USBA on the City side). Also closed was "Old Broadway" which runs underneath the plaza of USBA/GABP (think Left/Left-Center/Center Field of GABP.) I think all of the other roads were still open.

Mehring Way in the area of USBA/GABP might get a little dicey tonight, depending on the crowd, of course.

Hope this is helpful!
