Reading currently is on a 6 game winning streak, 4 gainst Florida and now our last 2 losses. For the most part I just cannot see the Royals for 1.) winning out and 2.) the Clones NOT making it alittle more interesting. From interviews with Reading players they are just as surprised at the way things are going down. I'm wondering if it is past due for it to all come crumbling down for Reading.

As for alot of the analysis i've read, well it's all correct, if this player played better and if this player did this and that then we wouldn't be in this position being down 2 games to none. I'm alot more disheartened by the fact that we finished a 7 game series only to jump on a bus and play virtually the next day against a team that had the week off. Play 2 games at home, were I'm certain little prep work was done by our coaching staff. Then we jumped a bus again to play on Tuesday, with 4 additional days in between. The word on the street was the ECHL wanted to shorten the playoffs. 4 days in between Tuesdays game and Saturdays game when apparently is was SOOOOOO important to start the series last Friday? It might not have changed the outcome and i'm not making excuses but for the higher seed it seems like we also have the harder way to go thus far.

biggest question would be is who to start in goal?

Think you have to go with Smith. He has played well and carried them this far. I think it would be very high risk to go with Mayer as he has not played a game except for about one period in three weeks and who knows how he would react to live play. if Smith had not been playing well then I could see the change but he has not lost a game for us. Lack of offense has lost it. I think the team would be very conservative offensively for at least a while with Mayer in there and that is not what we need. In either case, 2 of 3 in Reading is not that out of reach and then its a new game. Reading has not lost a game yet in regulation ( 2 in OT to KZoo) and while they have played well in all three series , they are not as strong as that implies so lets hope the streak stops tomorrow and another one starts.

To me its a no-brainer who to start in goal...Smith. He has earned it. Everyone knows he is the MVP of the playoffs and if not for him we would never have made it out of the South Carolina series, let alone Charlotte. He should be well rested by tomorrow night.

Besides, if the 'Clones keep going o-fer on the power play, it will be a moot point. It's to hard to go this deep in the playoffs and have a non-existent PP.

...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones!

Anyone else notice that Dalton plays with a "wrong handed" stick? The curve of his blade curves in towards his body, majority (actually all that I recall seeing) of goalies have curve going away from thier body.

We noticed that on Friday night too. A little odd, but whatever gets the job done.

I say definitely Jeremy in net. Like others have said, he hasn't been losing us these games. A few of them have been getting soft lately, but really, what's to be expected after having played continuously this long? I have faith in Robbie too, but him having not played in a while doesn't make me super confident. It certainly didn't help Reid Cashman to sit in MKE.

It is aggravating to watch the boys play like they did on Saturday and still lose. I think they played well, especially for a "tired" team. They didn't look overwhelmed physically, just maybe a little mentally drained. They can still get up and fight...

A nice quote by RaysRsharp on ITB:

Cincy has had the holy crap beat out of them in the first two rounds. Cincy's series with Charlotte and SC were two of the most physical series I've ever seen. I kept expecting the Clones to stay down, but they just kept getting up. Their mental toughness is very impressive. We'll see if they have enough left to climb the hill one more time.

What you do today can change the course of your life far into the future. Today is critical. Today really counts.

First off- Smith has done an unbelievable job and does not deserve
to "lose" his job. However, if you start Smith and we lose then you
almost have to stick with him for game four. If you start Mayer in
game 3 and we lose ( I know I hate to even think it),you now can come
back with a rested Smith for game four. Even if we win game 3 with
Mayer you can come back with Smith for game 4. Isn't good though we
actually have a choice.
As for the rest of the team, I put Ortiz in for Aubin and Heidinger
(good call hrc)in for Del Monte and watch Benson closely.

The only change I would make would be Ortiz for DelMonte because of the bad penalties, lack of scoring and turnovers.I would leave Aubin in because he brings a good physical presence to the game without taking bad penalties. He is due for some goals as is the rest of the team!!
