Chuck Weber knows there are better ways to start a playoff series than losing the first two games at home.

The fourth-year Cincinnati Cyclones coach also knows from personal experience that such a start doesn't necessarily mean the 0-2 team's season is over.

"We lost the first two games last year to Wheeling at home and came back to win the series," Weber pointed out. "Hopefully, the guys who were here last year will remember that and draw on that experience."

Cincinnati is in that same situation after losing the first two games of the ECHL American Conference finals against the Reading Royals Friday and Saturday at U.S. Bank Arena. The fifth-seeded Cyclones hope to start their comeback tonight in Game 3 at Reading's Sovereign Center against a red-hot Royals team that has won a season-best seven consecutive games.

The teams are scheduled to take three days off before the series resumes with Game 4 Saturday. Game 5, if necessary, is scheduled to be played on Sunday. Games 6 and 7 are scheduled to be played next Tuesday and Wednesday in Cincinnati, if the Cyclones can duplicate last year's comeback, which started with a sweep of the three games in Wheeling.

For that to take place, they have to hope that Royals goaltender Matt Dalton is more human than he was Saturday, when he stopped 45 of 46 shots in Reading's 3-1 win.

Dalton robbed forward Maxime Lacroix at least three times in Saturday's Reading win. Those were among several opportunities which gave Weber hope that the Cyclones were on the right track offensively. Still, forward Matt Pierce, who led Cincinnati with 28 goals during the regular season, has yet to score in the postseason.

Rookie forward Brett Robinson, who scored 15 goals in the regular season, already has six in the playoffs, including all three scored by the Cyclones in their two losses.
