So, while Mayer played lights out yesterday, I was stunned he got the starting nod as most people were. You cant take him out with the hot hand now can you? Even though Jeremy carried this team on his back until the finally found their scoring touch. Wouldnt be surprised if they went with a Win and/or give up 3 or less and you keep the job. |

After the game last night, I don't see Chuck making a switch in game one. Smith deserves some time off to recharge, and forgetting the ugly first period of game six, Mayer has two shutouts in two games.
Give Mayer the start and ride him as long as the hot hand continues, knowing we have Smith in the wings ready to slam the door on Idaho is Mayer falters.
God it's great to have two number one goalies!! |

Did anyone see a shot last night that Smith didn't make in game 6 relief? I was surprised last night, but also maybe Weber felt Smith would be better in quick relief than Mayer. Anyhow, I go for Smith in the odd number games and Mayer in the even. If anyone says that isn't the norm- what is normal with this playoff season ! As for last night, hats off to the defense and hats off to Mayer. With Montreal winning last night, Montreal,Hamilton and Cincinnati all make at least the semis. Must mean some talent both coaching and playing in the organization. |

I agree...Stay with Robert for at least game 1....If we come back from Idaho 1 - 1, I'd take that, but nothing would be greater than 2 - 0, in our house for next 3 games to finish it off in front of the home crowed, AGAIN.
I am a big Jeremy Smith fan, however, I liked the word used above "recharged." The guy has carried this team as far as he was going to. Robert will only compliment Jeremy and visa versa. I 2nd that its great to have 2 number one goalies! We have been blessed in that dept over the past 4 yrs or so. |

Weber's choice of goaltenders puzzles me most of the time-none more than last night.
I'll go out on a limb and say Landsdowne in game #1. |

I think thats fair. Mayer start friday, Smith Saturday, whoever does better start tuesday, and figure out thursday from there depending on how they are playing. |
