CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forwards Brent Clarke, Matt Smyth and goaltender Pat Street.
Clarke, a fourth-year pro, comes to Cincinnati after playing with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). This year with the Cottonmouths, the 24-year-old had accumulated 6 points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 15 games. He has some familiarity with Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde, as he played for him with the Bloomington PrairieThunder during the 2008-09 season.
Smyth, like Clarke, also played under Skalde skating in five games last season for Bloomington. In 2009-10, he also played in 51 games with the Couchiching Terriers (OJHL) where he was the leading scorer after posting 106 points (51 goals, and 55 assists). He also led the Terriers in 2008-09 with 89 points (41 goals, 48 assists).
Pat Street has served as the Cyclones emergency backup goaltender on several occasions this season. The Annapolis, MD native played collegiately with the Fredonia State Blue Devils from 2006-2009, posting a career 2.99 goals-against average and a 91.5 save percentage. All three players will be in uniform tonight as the defending Kelly Cup Champions welcome in the Toledo Walleye at 7:30pm. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a FREE Santa Bobblehead courtesy of Beacon Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in addition to $1 City Barbeque pulled pork sandwiches. Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.

I got money on this meaning Brett is going to be out for a while, and some more callups are coming.
The Street official signing just means more freedom to play him if Chevy needs a break or his having an awful game. He likely won't see a start.

Indeed, he may make his way onto the 21 day IR.
Smyth has some pretty impressive numbers in a quality junior league. I hope he can add some scoring punch to this team. They need some finishers.

We certainly could use Matt's scoring and Ryan's toughness.
Another case of bad for them, good for us. Looking forward to seeing them Friday.
