A nice slap shot from the top of the circle.

It's good to see him score on something other than a deflection.

Got about 15 minutes of ice team (10 even strength and 5 on the pp). Had a team high 5 shots on goal and was 10/17 (59%) on face-offs. He took the second highest number of face-offs on the team.

He also got creamed into the boards (a boarding penalty was issued) but he didn't miss a shift.

One of these days his teammates are going to start converting some of his feeds and his assist total will reflect the chances he is creating. His pp time was significant tonight and those minutes will have provided DD with a great learning experience.

Through 11 games, DD has 5 points (3g 2a) 18 shots, 2 PIM and is even on the plus/minus.

Not all star numbers, but nothing to sneer at either. I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the AHL is permanently in DD's rear view mirror.

Injuries have provided Desharnais with an opportunity, and so far he's taken advantage of it.

Here's a video of the elbow to the head that DD took in the 3rd period (about 45 secs into video):

Got right up and didn't miss a shift.

Watched the game on vs last night. David had a nice game with plenty of ice time.

Hartnell rocked him though, and the boarding call was BS. Hartnell did not leave his feet and did not drive David into the boards. David simply had his eyes down and paid for it.

There have been a few bad "looks bad so I'll call a penalty" calls over the past few games in the NHL. Gleason got a 5 and a game the other night for doing nothing more than knocking out the guy that was poking him in the face. BS.
I hope its just outliers and not a trend, but all this talk about making the game less violent is worrying me.

Leave it alone.

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.

Same thing in Columbus. Nash went hard into the boards after he scored and they called a crosschecking penalty on Lydman. The replay showed that Nash tripped over the toe of the goalie's skate.

Interesting little article about a skills competition within the Canadiens.

DD was second in their "fastest skater" competition. A common misconception about DD is that he's not a good skater. He is. And not only that, he's pretty quick as well.

Max Pacioretty followed up his 2-goal night in the Habs' 4-3 shootout loss to Saku Koivu's Anaheim Ducks by winning the fastest skater competition. Pacioretty's time of 14.26 seconds beat out runner-up David Desharnais along with Tom Pyatt and rookie P.K. Subban, who placed 3rd and 4th respectively.

Among their players that participated in that competition, that is.

You need to find yourself a girl mate! Or perhaps the reason you had time to list all those names is that you've already found one and are otherwise incapable of wooing said strumpet.

Personal attacks are completely unwarranted here. In the future, refrain from doing that.

You were stating earlier that David Desharnais had scored more goals than 11 NHL goalies, or something like that. I was merely providing a list of players who he had scored more goals than. Please try to keep up.

Desharnais had just 7:08 T.O.I. in Montreal's 4-1 loss today against the New Jersey Devils. Hamilton bound soon.
