What if the Cyclones decided to move into the Gardens? I mean, it is about 2Grand to rent it out for the night while the US Bank Arena is 10grand. The only bad thing about the Gardens would be the scoreboard and Sound system. Other than that, it's a better option in every other category. Its capacity is 11,000 which they are no where near getting unless its a playoff game. Parking is free which would get more people to go to the games. Plus Tailgating would be alot easier if people chose to do that.
Would you all like that idea, or do you enjoy US Bank Arena? |

Stay where they are. I don't particularly like the extra drive from Lebanon and the expensive parking, but the Gardens is a dump. U.S. Bank Arena owners also owns the Cyclones (please correct me if I am wrong) and I have no desire to see another peeing contest develop between the Gardens owner and the team.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. |
...And on the eighth day, GOD created the Cyclones! |

| Never back to the gardens. You're missing the fact that the same group owns the USBA and the Cyclones...they aren't going anywhere. |

This again?
I prefer USBA. I've been to a few club hockey and roller derby games at the Gardens in the past few years and it's just been deteriorating fast. It comes down to a lot more than the scoreboard & PA.
- I've seen under-funded high schools with a better scoreboard. - Seats that are barely a step up from Sportsplus metal stands. - Alienates Northern Kentucky audience by pushing the event space further north. - Concourse logistics are a nightmare for a crowd above 3500, which the Cyclones have proven they can draw.
I never look forward to that place as a venue... I just suck it up for the event. |

| Oh I gotcha, I have only seen it with the Commandos and thought it might be worth a shot, I had no idea that USBA owned the Cyclones. Moot Point then. |

If you saw it with the Commandos- don't you remember the "Super Bowl" when it was 90 degrees inside !!! I will agree the smaller arena can lead to better "feel" of the crowd but you won't get $2,000 rent if they invest 2 million to bring the arena up to USBA level (including our pathetic ceiling). I wouldn't mind a hanging tarp across the upper two top ends to keep the sound inside and bring the closer feel back. |
