CINCINNATI, Ohio – The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with center Ryan McLeod.

McLeod, a fifth-year pro, joins the Cyclones after skating with three different teams in the Central Hockey League (CHL) this season – Texas, Rio Grande Valley and Bloomington. Collectively in 2010-11, the Fernie, British Columbia native has amassed 34 points (13g-21a) in 53 games. Last year, McLeod finished sixth on the Colorado Eagles (CHL) in scoring by collecting 58 points (21g-37a) in 64 games.

Prior to embarking on his professional career, McLeod was a two-year letter winner at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he appeared in 49 games and earned 39 points (17g-22a)

He's had some off-ice issues, to put it mildly.

While with Rio Grande Valley, he was charged with public urination in a bar while the team was on a road trip - http://www.themonitor.com/articles/killer-46157-bar-mcallen.html

When he was waived by Bloomington earlier this week, this article - http://www.pantagraph.com/sports/hockey/professional/minor/prairiethunder/article_ba9b1390-54f2-11e0-8f29-001cc4c002e0.html had the following quote from the team's head coach:

quote:
“He was a good player, but I told him when he came here that I didn’t want any side stuff,” Christie said. “He was pretty far along that way, and it’s too close to the end of the season to deal with that.”

If he doesn't stick here perhaps he can play for Bengals. Sounds like he fits their profile

That is exactly what I'm thinking. I like the Cylones because we don't have players like the Bengals.

The kid can play a bit though. Thought he looked good with good hockey sense and strong speed.. Had him killing penalties and skating on line with Ego and Sprout
