I disagree with the notion that you can't boo the home team. To my way of thinking, that would be the same as saying the coach can't yell at the players because it'll hurt their feelings. Athletes in general have a great deal of pride in themselves and a bravado about what they are able to accomplish in their sport. Hearing the hometown fans boo can be a huge motivator to work harder.
To say this Reading team is just sooooooo much more talented, and to use that as an excuse is a croc. That talent didn't translate to domination in Reading where the Cyclones nearly pulled off a sweep, nor does it explain our inability to score at home against three entirely different opponents.
This team showed in game one that they can dominate this "superior" team, and in game two that they can come from behind in a hostile building and nearly pull one out. The question is why do they keep laying goose eggs at home? |

In the away games i have seen, the team plays a more conservative back to basics game then they do at home where they try, in my opinion, to get too cute with one too many passes etc and don't grind and crash the net. As 22 said, we don't have the skilled players to play a cute game. On at least three plays last night we had rushes where we were in good position to shoot in close and tried that extra pretty pass.
Still hopeful for tonight and if we can win, anything is possible in Reading. I just hope they don't come out flat as they often do the first five minutes and fall behind.
Apocalypse, that was a damming quote you gave from a former Cyclone. I would be curious as to who said it. I don't necessarily disagree with it but just think that when you quote someone with that strong a statement you should identify him if he made it in a public statement. People who get cut, traded etc often take it out on the coach and it would help knowing who it was in judging whether it was a fair shot or just sour grapes. Thanks |

The player was Samson Mahbod. Placed on waivers last game of regular season. If you need the source, it was on Mahbods facebook (public). I'm inclined to say its more than just sour grapes, despite its kneejerk appearance. |

| When Skalde was first announced , I told my cousin , who now resides in Bloomington , that he was coming here and before he could say anything his daughter says , He sucks. Out of the mouth of Babes . I honestly believe what we see as lack of effort is really complete frustration in trying to make a scheme work , that has proven it does not work with this personal and one they do not believe in. Perhaps a coach with more experience would have seen this and made the adjustments needed. I too grew up in Bama and learned that booing does not make the players play harder nor endears you to them . Miracles happen so I will be there tonight because one thing I learned last year when This same team was up 3 games to none the good guys fought back. Foster is playing his heart out but incase no one else remembers the name of Reading's goalie last year, just look at who will be minding thier net tonight. Experience helps when used to build on. |

I'd have to agree that Reading has better personnel across the board. Last night they beat the Cyclones to most of the loose pucks, won the battles in the corners and kept the Cyclones to the outside most of the game when the Cyclones were attacking. Reading's performance last night reminded me of last year's Charlotte team: bigger, faster, stronger. I know the Cyclones beat the Checkers last year, so I'm holding out hope for this series. However, watching Reading last night makes winning the next two a daunting task.
The Cyclones need to put a body on LaBelle and Riendeau. LaBelle was a killer last year and is doing the same thing this year. The Cyclones need to stand those guys up at the blue line instead of backing into the zone and giving those players space to work. Plus, those two seem to be pretty chippy with the stick and run their mouths a lot. If the Cyclones don't find a way to neutralize LaBelle and Riendeau, it's going to be a long night. |

| Saying the word "Boo" loudly at anytime, anywhere is just stupid anyway. Really disappointed no one went after Todd Perry after his great display of sportsmanship last night. |

We hurt his feelings by booing him. |

It's the same old Reading Royals. Can't take a check without pissing and moaning about it. Cruthers and Labelle are a joke and overrated. This team is totally unprepared mentally to go the distance. It's a shame our offense can't get it together because I see nothing special about Reading... I really don't. Mentally as unprepared as they were with a 3 game lead last year.

They're not necessarily mentally tough, but they do seem to be a step faster and stronger in the corners and along the boards.
Maybe they should sign Mike Sgroi to help with their mental stability.

Same as last night. Lots of effort but some poor decisions with the puck and an inability to finish. I was glad to see the boys finish the season on such a physical note though. They thumped Reading hard over the last couple of nights, and McLeod made the check of the year dead on center ice tonight. That one WILL be on next year's intro video.
I'm actually glad it's over. I'm now freed from being compelled to spend time and money to watch more.
If any of you guys have been watching the Preds of late (I'm in Kentucky and get a bunch of their games) THATS the style of play we should have been executing. They don't have a whole lot of offensive talent or natural goal scoring. They are winning with a combination of a great goalie, pounding the boards, and mucking in front of the opposing net. If only...

| Yes it is over and yes I hate sitting on the side while others are going to watch thier teams play on. I do want to state right now how proud I am of the boys and how hard they played tonight. Thier play tonight makes me glad I have already paid for my tickets for next year. For those who stayed home tonight and judging by the crowd it was alot I want to say without any doubt that you missed seeing our boys play with all the heart anyone could ask of them. I am by no means a pro as far as hockey , thus the rookie status here but I know enough to recognize heart when I see it. The boys might not have beaten them on the score board but without a doubt anybody else they play will be facing a very sore and battered team . GO CYCLONES. |
