"Chuck Weber, 38, will serve as the head coach of the Rampage, making him the seventh head coach in franchise history. The Lockport, NY native, served as the bench boss of the Rochester Americans during the 2010-11 season. Prior to coaching in Rochester, Weber served as the Vice President of Hockey Operations & Head Coach of the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) for four seasons. He led his club to the ECHL Conference Finals in three of his four years at the helm, capturing the ECHL Kelly Cup title in 2008 and 2010."

New affiliation alignment in the works?

From the AHL website, "The San Antonio Rampage announced today that they have has signed an affiliation agreement with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League"

... Wouldn't be that much different

Im a little bit shocked at this... I thought the whole idea of Chuck going to Rochester was for a well deserved promotion close to home... now hes going to Texas? Shock aside, he will do well in San Antonio... bigger arena, new opponents, better stock of talent from Florida. I saw the Rampage play Oklahoma City they are not a team to mess with, OKC barely beat them... Chuck will turn them into winners damn quick

KELLY CUP CHAMPIONS- 2008, 2010
AMERICAN/EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS- 2008, 2010, 2014
DIVISION CHAMPIONS- 1996, 2008, 2009, 2013
2008 BRABHAM CUP CHAMPIONS
Boards + visitors = broken bones!

I'm surprised anyone shocked by this...he's employed by Florida, the Sabres bought the Amerks, made them their affiliate, so Florida picked SA to be their affiliate and they moved their AHL coach there. I doubt that the Rampage players you saw last year will be there, since their rights probably belong to an NHL team and they will move to wherever their NHL team sets up their new AHL affilaite. I suspect Chuck will have many of the same Florida prospects he had in Rochester...
