I was lucky enough to take this one in in Cleveland. Cedrick is ready for another shot in the NHL. His defense left him hung out to dry several times (including two break aways he denied). The goal that was scored was a powerplay tally that i'm not sure anyone would have stopped.
Robert Mayer had a tough night as the score suggested. Unfortunately he was saddled with being on the PK for a lot of the time and IMO wasn't seeing the puck very well. His defense certainly did him no favors especially on the last goal where Hamilton coughed up the puck between the circles with no one even close to the shooter or Robert.
Former Cyclone TJ Fast was also in Hamilton's line up and got a little power play time.
It was nice to see our guys step up to the next league and see how much better their game has gotten.

I had the pleasure of being one of those in attendance as well. I disagree about Mayer. He had 42 saves in a game completely dominated by Lake Erie. Of the 5 goals he allowed, only two of them could be considered "his fault". Two of them were 5-on-3 goals on down low cross ice passes. The other one was a turnover at the side of the net flipped to a guy who was all alone at just above the top of the crease. While he may not quite be ready for the NHL (glove still needs a little work), he certainly played a very good game for what looks like a very bad Hamilton team.
