A name to watch to fill an opening for a head coach in the NHL: Former IHL Cyclones defenseman Dallas Eakins.
Eakins is in his third season as the head coach of the AHL Toronto Marlies. With Kirk Muller recently named head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes (he had been head coach of the Milwaukee Admirals), Eakins is now considered the top NHL head coaching prospect in the league.
