As you admitted last week that you haven't seen Houser play at all this year, I wonder how many times you have seen Desjardins play this year? If none--when was the last time you actually saw him play? Surely for you to be as certain as you are, you conclusion must be based on your own recent unbiased observations of his skills.

By the way, as to your statement that he will only get a call up as a result of an injury, that is the reason the vast majority of NHL goalies get their initial taste of the NHL!!! Very very few get named number one or number two without ever having been called up to replace an injured goalie and play a few games. Most do it more than once.

I am impressed though that you will be given a comp ticket in Tampa. I am always impressed by such celebrities.

Desjardins gave up four goals on 29 shots in a 4-3 loss to Montreal tonight at the St. Pete Times Forum. The Lightning had a 3-1 lead going into the third period, but Desjardins was unable to hold it, giving up three goals on 13 shots in the final period.

As much as Ceddy got the loss the team as a whole seems upset about the way they played as a whole.

'When you're in these situations, things creep into your head when you're not winning games, and you're finding ways to lose,'' Stamkos said after a players only postgame meeting. ''It's natural. You've got to find a way not to have that."-Sports Yahoo recap

"Right now it gets our guys nervous whenever it gets close in these moments, and you have to get rid of that,'' Tampa Bay coach Guy Boucher said. ''As you saw today again, they battled with a top team and were right there, but it's that confidence that comes with results.''-Sports Yahoo recap

Its a team sport, not just a goalie sport, no goalie has ever gone undefeated. Ceddy lost but there is more to a team then a goaltender, the team has to play well TOGETHER!

Transactions NHL Mar 12
Tampa Bay Lightning...Cedrick Desjardins
Sent to minors(Syracuse-AHL)

With Syracuse in first place, maybe he can make a big run in the
playoffs before his next chance in the NHL. Big issue with Cedrick
is to stay healthy while playing.

After an eight day layoff Cedrick was finally beat this
playoff run. Sweeping in the playoffs save your players from
wear and tear but sometimes the rust from not playing shows.

When you're on a roll, you want to keep playing. Eight days is a long time between games.

Syracuse takes game two to even the series. Cedrick is now 8-1
in the playoffs. Maybe a Caulder Cup trophy next to his Kelly
Cup trophy will turn enough heads. His main question is still
durability but an initial back-up role might be in reach.

A Caulder Cup trophy won't impress anyone in the hockey world. A Calder Cup, however, might.

Every NHL organization has at least two goalies better than Desjardins. I know you don't want to hear this, but organizational depth is what he will continue to be for whatever team he signs with.

Last night (Wednesday) Cedrick did it again w/ a 2-0 shutout. I'm sure
the Syracuse team and fans are glad they brought him in for the end of
the season and now the playoffs. 9-1 for this playoff run !

Desjardins has posted a somewhat pedestrian-like .913 save percentage in the playoffs.

A lot of Syracuse players were on last year's Calder Cup team in Norfolk.

Not bad for a "pedestrian-like" goalie as Cedrick comes through
again 4-2. Record this post season is 10-1 and also noticed another
Cyclone alumni playing for Wilkes-Barre, Mr. hometown Chris Minella !
Sorry Chris but I'm rooting for Cedrick this post season.

Desjardins stopped 23 shots en route to his second shutout of the series and third of the 2013 playoffs in a 7-0 win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton tonight, helping Syracuse advance to the Calder Cup finals where they'll face either Grand Rapids or Oklahoma City.
