1.)actually goal posts can't make saves because those shots aren't technically on net. if they were on net they would have either gone in or required the goalie to stop them.
2.)the 21 shots that we registered was closer to 15 to 18. the datyton score keeper was being very liberal with the shot count. credit is only supposed to be given when the puck is on net. we shot several wide of the net that got counted. we also had a few centering passes that brown deflected and were considered shots and shouldn't have.
3.)also we got screwed out of about 25secs of 5 on 3 PP time in the second period. a dayton player took a delay of game call (which according to the new rules was correct) while dayton already had 2 on the box. that players time does not start until the 1st penalty expires. we scored and the score board showed the 1st dayton penalty at just under a minute, and the second penalty at 1:25. they deleted the 1st penalty and then rather than putting the 2 minutes for delay of game up they ran the 1:25 down to 57secs, then put the 2minutes up. i doubt it would have made a difference but have the score keeper kill 25secs certianly can helpt the pk unit.
1.) No ****, I was trying to hint around that damn we were coming close at making it a 10-4 game.
2.) Shots on goal BLAH BLAH goals scored 5
3.) EXCUSES lol what about our goal taken from us in the 1st when and the goal given to you in the 3rd LOL wow your worried about PIM when you were given a goal and took one away from us.

i have a few things to say about last night...
1)Jericho, you say we disrespected the country, we have been ylling howie for several years, and before the anthem was sung, 1 dumbass fan yelled, dont take it out on all of us because of 1 stupid fan. 2)you also say we have no class, ok, what class is it the yell and i quote "shove the kelly cup up your ass" at or fans? yea, REAL CLASSY! 3)both teams played a well fought game, and even though i was not very happy with the outcome of the game, all we can say is both teams need work and we still have a long season ahead of us. |

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

not making exuses. if you read what i posted you'll see i wrote that im not sure if it the timing error would have made a difference. but the fact is that timing errors are not subjective whereas the when the referee blows his whistle is. the goal/no goal calls could have easily gone either way as those calls where left up to the opinion on the referee and not what the fans think, when the referee loses sight of the puck he blows the whistle. timing rules are concrete and the off ice staff that runs the clock should know them. |

Disappointing start to the season.
So far our defensive effort has been poor, to say the least. The forwards and defensemen have been allowing guys to camp uncontested in the slot. I've never seen that on a Weber-coached team and don't expect that I will for much longer.
Keep in mind that Weber obtained both McElroy and Swanson in the middle of last season. He also got Deitsch from Europe midway through the season. The point is, that Chuck will make roster improvements as the season progresses.
We've got two very productive affiliate situations. Aubin hasn't dressed in the first 4 Hamilton games so he's a prime candidate for return. Daoust has only dressed once so far. Van Guilder-Weber's top off season free agent signing-may get returned from Milwaukee. We haven't received a single defensman from either organization, so it's well within the realm of realistic expectations to think that we will.
Gajewski has gotten off to a rough start. He hasn't gotten much help defensively, but he has looked quite shaky. Still, he's a first year pro straight out of juniors. It's way too early to form any definitve judgement about him yet. Lacasse is an unknown as well. We'll have to give the goaltenders some time to adjust to the higher level of play.
So, let the Dayton fans enjoy themselves. Their rag tag lot of rejects beat us in OT on their home ice when we played pathetically. Kelly Cups are won in May, not October. I heard more than one of their 'genius' fans predicting that we won't even make the playoffs. Let them enjoy their delusions. They'll need them as the season takes its toll on their third-rate roster.
Also, the bummers didn't let us down on their attendance juicing. That 7680 sure looked a lot closer to 4500-5000.

It was a disappointing that we lost, but the season is young.......Coach will make some changes, players will come and go, we will win and lose some, but look at the bright side, we will be hanging a nice banner next Saturday night, in front of Dayton!
One more reason to dislike Dayton, their goalies name is Mike Brown! Jeez |

(Rivalry hat off for a second)
I'm not talking about yelling before the anthem. I'm talking about yelling howie or whatever you yelled DURING the anthem. There is no reason for that. I don't care if you've been doing it for years (I'd never heard it before last night). It shows a complete lack of respect for our country.
I honestly doubt that it is anyone's intent to trivialize the national anthem, but that's what things like that do. As you know I'm all for belittling opponents teams, players and I have no issue when that comes back around on my team even from opposing fans. There is a time however, when that needs to be turned off. The national anthem stands for something bigger than us all. THAT should be the time when we shed the facade that we all put up pretending that this hockey game is anything more than entertainment for us all and take a moment to think about what really matters, and if all that really matters at that moment is some silly little inside joke then I feel sorry for you all. |

| I am a Cyclones fan and 3rd year season ticket holder - I couldn't agree more with Jericho. The middle of the national anthem is not the time for an idiotic jester! That is my thought! |

| ok jericho, where have you been? we yell howie at every game that section60 is at, and you say it like we are the only fans to do that (for example, dallas star fans yell "stars" during the anthem, and chicago wolves fans cheer thoughout the entire anthem, or anyplace that cheers within the last few lines of the song) |

I didn't think it was appropriate when Toledo yelled hit somebody during the anthem. I've been to a Wolves game and it turned my stomach when they yelled through the entire song.
I've never heard you guys do it before, usually I'm still getting in the building in Cincinnati when the anthem is playing because I get off work late. I'm not telling you to stop, that's obviously not within my power to do so, but I think that it's disrespectful.
