| In a separate transaction, goaltender Mike Brown has accepted a contract to play in Germany for the duration of the 2008-09 season. Brown was 1-0-0 with the Bummers after saving 17 of 21 shots in the Bummers 5-4 season opening overtime victory against Cincinnati on Saturday night. That's what is happening in Dayton |

games! This tradition means no disrespect to the National Anthem and if you don't like
it-don't attend the Cyclone-Bummer games. |

I agree with you and IH8....Keep it at home if they have to do it...though I expect it at home I would feel the same way you guys do if fans from another team came to our place and yelled something I have no Idea what they are saying...I would take offense too it. Even most people at our arena has no idea what they are saying and I still can't tell what they are yelling from where I sit. |

There are plenty of Cyclones fans who think that the "HOWIE" thing is offensive as well. :( The good thing is, we live in the U.S. because you can do something like that during the national anthem and not go to jail for it;)
I think it's inappropriate to do on the road but I don't have any problem with it at HOME. (mainly because the BIG FANS know what the heck is being said)
And as far is Dallas goes, DALLAS SUCKS :-0 |

I have a BIGGER problem with people NOT STANDING UP (unless handicapped) during the playing of OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM and Men not removing their hats. a lot more than the 'HOWIE' at the end of the song. [just my 2bits]
As far as the 'other issue'.............It Is Called Rivalry!! Have Fun with it people.......and don't take it serious!!!!! |

| Regarding the National Anthem thing, first of all I don't think how you act for 30 seconds during a song that's played before every national sports event makes you any less patriotic or a disrespectful American. I am quite surprised to hear that Dayton fans are upset about it all of a sudden. I guess we hadn't done it at the Nutter Center before, it's been a tradition at home for years, and given how many Cyclones-Bummers games have been at USBA over the years and how you hear it clearly through the whole arena, I just found it funny how they all of a sudden had a problem with it now. I see both sides of the issue, I have no problem with it myself. If you don't want to do it and/or find it disrespectful, don't do it and leave it to Section 60, and no harm done. |
