What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

| Didn't exactly set the world on fire in the AHL, which I reckon is why he got sent here. Be interesting to see how he takes the "reassignment". |

Mark Santorelli can be a major offensive force. His AHL numbers aren't typical for him (Which is why he is with us) . His last year in Major Junior (WHL) he scored over 100 points in 72 games. His numbers are remarkably similar to David Deharnais.
Give him a few games and I think we will have a nice complement to Thomas Beauregard and Olivier Latendresse. All in all an offensive upgrade.

Hey Elvis77 I would tell you what I "thing" but not sure you would grasp the conversation. My God, you know so much about this sport You must be some young know it all, or something.. Try playing the game before you speak it.. You probably where figure skates, and twirl around on your little toes. Your skates are more then likely pink with tassles. |

| A question for Mr. Elvis77 in what way does the number of posts made on a forum have to with how much you follow a team. I was two years old when the Cyclones started and was at the first game then. I have been sitting in section 120 with Cloneiac for years, yet I've only posted twice. I guess I should give my jerseys, my shirts, my hats, my tickets away to whoever has the most posts on here since your loyalty is measusred by the number of posts. also... I apologize to Cloneiac for spilling ketchup on him on opening night >< |

Seems like we've heard this song before (Posting dated 10-28-08, 6:34 PM, titled "Tonights Game", page 3). At the time those with less than 50 posts were lumped into two catagories. I'm sure there are some on here who believe there should be an application process before some people should post if your not in the click.

i was going to say the same thing and tell you to go look it up. since cloneinator was kind enough to re-list the date of the thread i looked it up. here are the comments i made regarding this issue:
"i didn't speak specifically about the goal tending, but in past conversations with chuck he mentioned of at least 1 goal per game that kyle wanted back. in all honesty, everyone is jumping on the play in goal, but until the defense is shored up, it's going to be hard to judge exactly what we have between the pipes.
please stay behind these guys. please remember what has happened in the past to ceddy when he got called up. he went from a situation where everyone was behind (cincinnati) to a situation where everyone doubted him (hamilton) and he had a hard time. trust me, kyle and loic know what they need to work on and they know when they give up a bad goal. they don't need us to get on these boards and bag on them. they need to feel confident, and constantly hearing that they suck, especially from people that probably couldn't even skate in goalie equipment is not going to help them feel confident. remember the #7 has been retired in the name of the fans, because we are the 7th man and we need to stand behind them.
loic and kyle aren't going anywhere unless mandated by the affiliates, so thoughts of dov or cody coming back should be forgotten. i like max, and he played great for us last season but a wet paper towel could have won a few games last season given the strength of our defense and puck possession. his numbers in charlotte aren't that great and i'm not sure i'd feel any better with with him than i would kyle.
to those that have less than 50 posts and are commenting on what needs to been done, i will assume you fall into 1 of 2 categories. category 1 would be you are new to town from a region that has hockey and you know the game and are happy to have hockey to watch. and 2, you hopped on the championship bandwagon last season and expect this team to be like last years. to those of you in category 1, chuck is a 3rd year coach how took a bunch of misfits to a conference championship in his first year, took that same group, plus a few very special players, to a championship; he knows what he's doing, it just might take some time for the players to learn to do what he wants them to do. to those in the 2nd category, this is minor league hockey. when you win a championship players usually move up and on to higher levels of hockey. this is not last years team, and although last years team is most likely you're only exposure to hockey, please do not hold this years group of guys to that level. last years team was special, seasons like that do not come along very often, if at all, and odds are we will not see a team/season like that again, so don't expect it. after going 55-12-1-4 last year i came in with very low expectation, because i new if i expected the same performance as the previous year i'd be greatly disappointed. i waited 18 years to see the cyclones win a championship. i want nothing more than to see a repeat, but i know they're going to lose more than 12 games along the way if it happens. if it doesn't i'm willing to let chuck reload for next year (don't get me wrong, i haven't thrown in the towel yet, and i won't until they say it's mathematically impossible).
sure we aren't having a great start, but our kelly cup adversary from last season has started 1-3-0-1, so, as you can see, we aren't the only ones who aren't playing we from the start. give our boys time to learn chucks game. we they do look out....
sorry rant over"
after everyone let their panties get all bunched up i clarified a bit with:
"he's why i said what i said. as i've been reading posts, it seems that the people with fewer posts are the ones tearing the team down and those with more posts are preaching patience. i was speaking in generalizations and i was aware that some individuals would take offense. while it's an observation that does not apply to every individual, it is one that would that lead me to the theory that a lower number of posts meant they've only followed the team since late last season where as those with higher posts had most likely followed this team for more than just late last season. the people bagging don't seem to understand the nature of minor league sports and they expect this team to perform the same as last season and don't remember the slowish start of last season and the ups and downs of the first season, most likely BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T AROUND. those that have been aroun through those 2 seasons and longer know that at this level of hockey there is i high level of player turnover from season to season, especially after a championship year and there is way to know what kind of team you have after 4 games. i should probably remind some of you that the 06-07 team started better than last years team; those that are hating, are you suggesting that the 06-07 team was better than last years. based on your knee jerk reactions to the first 4 games i would say you are, and that's just crazy.
to those that were booing kyle (he's the goalie by the way) and yelling we want cedrick, you are a poor excuse for a hockey fan. kyle is here, ceddy isn't, support the guys we have, they might just surprise you; the 06-07 team sure did. the organization had no control over the decision for ceddy to play in hamilton, so deal with it and shut your mouth. i'm sure when the defense comes around and kyle is winning games you'll be the same people cheering him.
standing by this team regardless of the score is what the cyc-ward is all about..."
to smashmouth i've played the game for 18 years. i saw my first game in 1986. also, before you rip a player wait to see him play and/or do some research. don't look at a guys height and weight and make assupmtions. santorelli may not amount to much but, as tjpavlik brought up, he's a young kid who put up very good numbers in juniors; if he can even be half of what desharnais was last season, he'll be a welcome addition. since you want base a players ability on size, i'm really surious to know what you thought of makway and mckenzie. both big players but played kind of like traffic cones. granted, once mckenzie scored a goal he started skating, but previous to that, he was less then stellar. we've had enough small play plan allows these guys to excel... |
