Well, that completely sucked. I blame the loss on... Barry Pochmara! He lost control of the game in the second which lead to the fight which I blame the real cause of the loss... Martin Houle! Exactly what the &*%$ are you doing? Let the boys fight but STAY IN YOUR CREASE!
The goal with 18 seconds left in the second was the game. The third period was merely a formality; the game had been won and lost.
During the first fight TJ was cut pretty bad... he came back in the third, which was admirable. Look for Sgroi to be in the lineup for Johnstown tomorrow. Lets hope the fighting is out of our system and we go back to playing our game.

| That's the first time I've got to see a goalie fight and hopefully the last time I see one until we get a good back-up goalie that can finish the game!! |

I really thought we had things under control until that bonehead fight Houle just had to get involved in. I have never seen two different games in the same night as the first and third periods. tipavlik, you hit the nail right on the head.....what in Gods name was Houle thinking? I felt it was important to get 4 points out of this series. That is going to be difficult at best now. |

| Did anybody by chance get this on video? There was soooo much going on at one time. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

All goalie fights are good. Better than wins!!!
We held the edge the first two periods. Or so it seemed to me. We came out flat in the 3rd. At least I hope it was flat and not intimidated.
Knight took runs at several of our players and they did nothing in return. It's the one part of Weber's coaching that drives me crazy. But, I screamed about it last year and look at how much this lack of retaliation cost the team!! Still don't like it.
Anyway, Houle gets a thumbs up from me for fighting. Hopefully I'm wrong in thinking that there may have been an intimidation factor going on in period 3. We need to keep Johnstown within our sights in the standings. Can't let them open up too big a lead on us. |

If Ponchmara had blown his whistle when the icing occured and not 2 seconds later, then there would have been no fight.
McElroy popped the J-Town player who swiped at the puck-as hed should have. Penner popped McElroy-like he should have. Had the play been blown dead, the players wouldn't have played the roles that they are expected to play. That's what I saw anyway. |

I will say Houle made a dumb move but a move that I think was pretty entertaining. I thought in most leagues goalies could still play after fighting but I guess not the E.
Anyway, TJ did get some payback during that 3rd period fight. NOt a great fight but he showed he was still there to play and play hard if he had to. |

In the E, if a goalie cosses the red line, it's an automatic game misconduct. I wasn't at the game last night (unfortunately), but from the video that XcloneiacX posted, it looks like both goalies crossed the red line before the fight really got started. |

I don't think we were intimidated in the third...the late goal in the second sucked all the wind out of the sails. If the game goes to the third tied and McElroy comes back its a different game.
The reason I blame the loss on Houle is he has to realize what will happen after the fight. While I don't know Kyle Gajewski's mindset as he goes from door opener to in the game... a game he probably isn't prepared for. The shot that beat him was a good shot; in fact very similar to the shot Houle got beat on in the first. Good shot or not the save had to be made, the game hinged on that shot, and he failed to make the save. And we lost...
Tonight will be interesting but I imagine Gajewski starts in goal.

I guess we can agree to disagree about goalie fights being better than wins. Granted there is a lot of season left, but the 'Clones had won four straight and need points. They are playing the first place team and I felt Houle was outplaying Mayotte. Besides, I agree that goalie fights are entertaining, but it's like watching two stay-puff marshmellow men going at it. There is a time and place for everything, but this simply wasn't it. I don't know if they were intimidated or flat out-played in the third period, but it was a terrible thing to see. I don't believe the 'Clones even had a shot on goal until 13 minutes into the period, and couldn't have had more than 5. Two of those were off rebounds and two on a power play. Tonight will be interesting to say the least. |

My take on the fight was the start was McElroy knocking down the Johnstown player from behind.I give the refs credit for settling things down after the fight was over and doing a good job of NOT starting the game back too quickly. As for the goalies, yes it was entertaining and yes the fact it was down in the Johnstown end makes it easy to see Houle is to blame for that fight. If you recall the Elmira goalie fight,Cedrick finally gave in to fight when he was confronted a few yards from his net. That said, anyone ready to put the net in Kyle's hands when Loic is back and send Martin packing is nuts.I left the arena unhappy with the loss, but with respect for the team standing up for itself.I think the ref showed he was under control by NOT giving McElroy 10 minutes for the fight in the third. I hope tonight the two teams can get back to playing hockey. If Penner is there on opening faceoff-expect a fight at the 19:59 mark! |

| Never in a million years would I suggest Houle get cut when Lacosse is back, but it sure going to make for an interesting decision since Juice and Loic were assigned by our affiliates. But as in previous posts, it's all speculation at this point. |
