Here's an article about Youngstown getting an ECHL franchise next season. However, in it they said they were close to sealing a deal with Wheeling, which the Wheeling owners denied and that deal is now off. They also mentioned talking with the Dayton owners and there is going to be a Dayton STH meeting next week (at least I think that's the date).

IMO this has been a long time coming, I was just hoping Youngstown would join the league, but not in the place of another Northern Division team. Had they taken Wheeling's place, Y-Town is only about a half hour further as far as travel costs are concerned, and also don't forget Toledo coming back next year. BTW - to Dayton fans who will read this, this is not me trying to stir the spot, it's significant to our division so it's why I'm putting it here. Personally, and I think most would agree with me, I never want to see Dayton go because both of our teams benefit from each other greatly. |

Pinhead Robinsons? What happened to THIS richy rich: quote: If they team was back at the Gardens and Robinson was in charge youd be getting 4,500-5000 a game.
Don't gotta try so hard to make yourself look like you're not a cronie. Not fooling anyone.
Now, back to the topic at hand, I know the new Dayton owner commented that the team was here to stay when he took over, I hope he was true to his word. |

Being the educated individual I am, I can't see how anyone could take your post as "stirring the pot". Being a Dayton fan, I'm glad Cincy came back into the league. Close road games, heated rivalry, all the good things for being a fan. Hell, I come on here just to see what's going on with Cincy. Yeah, we get the banter going back and forth. But, that's part of the fun. I'd hate to lose any of the teams that are close.
Also, Elvis, or whomever runs the board, not that I have any pull or anything but, a couple of people need to get the boot from this forum. I can't even follow any threads here lately because of someone's bull****. |

| I want Dayton to stay because I love being able to go to a potential 42 games a year watching the Cyclones. Dayton needs to get out of the Nutter Center, and back to an arena that is more suited for hockey. I don't know if refurbishing Hara is an option or playing in Troy. Good luck Dayton fans! |

| I would think Hara would be the more viable option ... Hobart is just too small. I'm not certain of the capacity as I was only there once, but I can't imagine it's much more than 3k, maybe 3500 (but then again it would be about the same size as Elmira's). Still, I would think some major renovations would need to be done to make it a regular ECHL arena, after all as far as I remember there isn't even a real concourse. As much as I think the Nutter Center is a pretty bad hockey arena, it is at least convenient and very easy to get to. |

| I know a pond they can play on if it takes too long to fumigate Hobart arena. Well, fumigate the place on the last game of the season vs Trenton and be sure to give Donny Cricket/Hockey a seat next to a batch of raid to get those lice knits off his Ducks jersey. |

How can it be too small at 3500 capacity if the team is averaging less than that? |

Latest article on WHL to Youngstown drama.
http://www.theintelligencer.net/page/content.detail/id/519278.html?nav=523
As far as Wheeling Nailers co-Presidents Rob and Jim Brooks are concerned, the alleged flirtation with Youngstown is a thing of the past. They've chosen to move forward - in Wheeling -
It appears to me as if the Nailer's ownership got caught with its hand in the cookie jar and has now thrown away both the cookies and the jar. At least for the 2009-10 season |

| I've been at the Moondog games the past two seasons ... this year we got there earlier so we actually got the bobblehead, it was pretty small, the size of our Desharnais bobbles this year. Last year however it was a sell out and we missed out, I found it interesting how that worked out considering how their team played this year and how dominant they've been in the North this year ... |

The town hall meeting is Jan 15 7PM at the Nut house. As you can see this is my 1st post on this board. I have tuned in since it was created, only watching. As one of the other posters stated (our teams need each other) especially in these hard times. I hope that in the coming years both teams will be here. Good luck to all the ECHL teams.

| There are plenty of echl franchises Youngstown could buy.....Augusta, Fresno are two....I'm sure we will see one up there soon since they closed the CHL franchise they had. I would hate to see either Dayton or Wheeling lose their team...especially since they are the closest to Cincy. |
