| How about JJ with the Gordie Howe hat trick. If this team could just get some sort of consistency in their play and the roster could have a couple weeks go by where not much changes, they might be able to gel and make a run in the second half. I'd give them a grade of b- for the first half. With everything they've been through the first 36 games they are in the last playoff spot and they battle hard just about every game. It hasn't been the season so far that some people wanted or expected, but all in all pretty decent to this point. |

| Great win (not to mention much needed at home) and great crowd. I wasn't at least night's game but I thought there was 5000 there tonight easily (yeah, there were holes, but I thought the ends and corners made up for them). The pressure in the first period was up like we haven't seen much from this team this year, my biggest concern was if we would be able to finish because that has been one our biggest achilles heels. Outside what seemed like more of a "protective" third, they controlled the game at a perfect pace. Nice to see the secondary scoring from the likes of McLeod and JJ -- the Gordie Howe hat trick was indeed nice. The "body slam" to Harrison at the end was only icing on the cake. Speaking of Johnson, you won't see me complain about officiating much (I actually liked the lack of calls in this game), how the hell was Johnson being, well, layed on by the Trenton goal for 10 seconds not called? Also have to give a ton of credit to Nie ... he made about as many glove saves as I've seen since Cassivi played here, and his rebound control was outstanding. |

Great game.
Nie will continue to impress.
Harrison's temper tantrum at the end was funny. Did he want to fight or play swords with the sticks?

the sad part of JJ getting held down while in the trenton net is the ref turned around to look right at it and never made a call.... |

not to beat a dead horse but haven't i said "consistency" before....if the guys can bring that game every night they will surely win more than they'll lose.
beginning to end that was one of the best games i've seen this season. nie was excellent.tj got back to being tj. the passing was crisp...i could go on and on.
keep it up boys... |

Bakersfield: Add Donny Grover, D traded from Cincinnati Delete Donny Grover, D placed on the 3-day IR
I would say the trade for Nie could not come at a better time. Sorry to hear about that Donny. |

Salekin wnt down low and flipped Harrison over top of him, thats when Harrison came back with several two-handed whacks. Not sure it should have been tripping per se, but he did go low & flip him... |

Question to anyone there-on the first goal that Nie gave up-did our player run into him causing him to drop it and allow it to trickle in the goal? It looked like it was caught by him then all of a sudden it went in the goal. |

On the subject of the "tripping"... I can't really say it appeared that Salekin did anything on purpose for Harrison to act like a fool the way he did, but maybe I'm just seeing it from a biased perspective. I was up top training in +/-, which gave me a way better view than what I normally would have in the west end zone.
Salekin was appearing to keep the puck in the offensive zone, had his stick to the ice and Harrison was coming right at him. When he figured Harrison wasn't going to stop, he just lowered his center of gravity. Harrison didn't stop and went right over top of him. Then Salekin stood up, kind of pissed, like WTF was that? And then Harrison was screaming at him and coming after him with his stick like it was some kind of weapon. I couldn't believe it... LOL
So yeah, Harrison flipped over top of him, but for the love of Pete, who couldn't have stopped themselves before that happened? If he was coming over to check Salekin and ended up on his face, how is that our fault? LOL

| Was that Harrison or a transformed Mike Sgroi with red hair LOL. Given the recent fines and suspensions relating to these type of incidences, I would not be surprised if Harrison sits out a few. BTW, what was all the commotion about behind the Trenton bench following the Harrison escapade?? |
