I have confirmed with Sherry Chapman that the game will NOT be shown on the TV's at Slugger's.

To those of you going up, have fun & be safe.

Since we passed Trenton in average attendance and right behind
Wheeling, today's game will have 4,399 fans at the game to make
sure they still lead us. When talk of "free tickets" is
mentioned,,my thought is as long as a butt is in the seat that's
fine,I just hate seeing a 1200 crowd being called 3800 !

If my calculations are correct, their 2051 attendance will drop their
average to 2584 and ours climbed to 2549.This means if somehow
we could get a 3100 crowd on Wednesday,we could climb one more notch
on the attendance ladder.Instead of just $1 beer, why not $1 cans of
pop,$1 hotdogs and $1 popcorn.Everyone still makes money and families
get a break on prices. This team looked good on Saturday and this win
today in Wheeling -maybe we've turned the corner.Somebody change the
coach's number and not give it to Hamilton and Milwaukee !

I know it's rough on a school night but not everyone is looking for
just cheap beer.My wife and I don't drink beer at the game and many
others are the same way.We just bought a 12 pack of Pepsi for $3.At
$1 apiece,that's $9 profit.Two 12 ounce cans at $2 is more pop than
one 20 ounce bottle at $3.50. How many cans of pop would Friday's
Boy Scouts have gone through .

Well put Bags. I don't drink either (did all mine in college-hell of a cover charge). Maybe on weekday games they could start at 7:00 instead of 7:30. That might get more families out on school nights.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

7 pm would be hard for some people with the commute. We come into games from Lawrenceburg but the wife works in cincy- we are lucky to make the 7:30 games on time... I would guess we are in the minority though.

I have been complaining for years that they have $1 beer but offer nothing for people like me that don't like to drink (especially on a weeknight). $1 soft drinks and hot dogs would make me a lot more inclined to attend.

7:30 also works a lot better for me then 7:00. Sometimes I don't get home from work until about 6:45.

Mr.Stills, although a lot of fans love the $1 beer nights and I don't want to lose them, what about us non
drinkers and underage fans? I've got an idea that not only works for us but would also make money for the
concession people. At Target today we bought a 12 pack of Pepsi cans for $3.If you charged $1 per can,
this results in $9 profit per 12-pack. The concession booth also has the ease of selling sealed cans with
no waste of time dispensing.Add on the $1 hotdogs and this would be great at least for the weekday
games.Thanks for listening.
This was just sent to Joe Stills.I urge everyone to send some type of letter like this if you like the idea.

@BAGS- great idea- until some idiot throws a can onto the ICE ;)

I think that having dollar soda & dogs is a great idea, but only if they promote it to NON- HOCKEY FANS TOO. Seeing ads during the Jackets games just doesn't cut it. They should hit channel 9 during the Zone (on sat nights) as well as SNL or right after it. (which I know is expensive) They could also advertise on "sportsrock" or other shows, which they are on occasionally.

Lack of advertisement reminds me of the season before they went dark, and I think that is what started a number of the rumors. I think as long as the Neiderlander group is in charge and attendance is up on average, this team will be here. I think that they need to get 1 or 2 sports marketing people in house... that concentrate on just the clones and not the arena as a whole. (I know, wishful thinking)

Hockeygod,if the beer cans now being sold aren't thrown onto the ice,
why would the soda cans?We sell bottles WITH THE CAPS and we don't
have a problem.I understand your concern and we learned in the finals,
stupid idiots can bring superballs to the game and coins have been
thrown. We as fans have the duty to point these jerks out and make them
pay for these actions.

*Shakes head*

You do know that there are fountain drinks and snow cones sold at the games... right? I really wish people on this message board would get some common sense.

Randy, the reason I say CANS is you don't have to wait 5 minutes to dispense 4 pops.
Like the beer, the can is ready to grab out of the cooler, easier to carry a quantity
since they are sealed and this is the reason. If you still want your pop in a cup with
ice,you can buy that at the regular price just like now you can buy draft beer on
$1 & $2 beer nights. If your common sense remark is aimed at my can idea-I'm confused
on what the problem is.I just hate waiting long lines for beer or pop to be pumped
into a cup holding three swallows.Long live the $1 CANS.

I definitely agree with the concencus that they need to also have dollar sodas, they would definitely make a killing off of me as well. IMO they obviously got the "Thirsty Thursday" idea from the Florence Freedom, and they have both $1 beers and $1 sodas. One of the things that has always drove me crazy is how Wildman promotes the upcoming weeknight games, he even did it last night ... "get a sitter and come on down to the game", that is the wrong way to go about it. Add the dollar sodas ...
