it is pretty interesting isn't it. as bad as things started and as inconsistent as the boys have been, they are still in the thick of it. and with 2 games left against wheeling before the all-star break we could end up just 4pts behind them...
i think it shows 2 things...1. how balanced things really are in the division. yes, wheeling and j-town are struggling with call-ups, but then again so are we. 2. it goes to show just how good we were last year; we had a double digit point lead going into the all-star break last year...oh how times change.
bottom line is with all the games left within the division it's still anyones game except, like bags said, reading. the only hurdle that concerns me is the trip down south. the guys have to take care of business down there and not lose ground.... |

| As I said in another thread I believe we've had a pretty good season especially when you consider everything that's happened with basically a whole new team, call ups, and players retiring and quitting. We're sitting in 4th place just 8 points out of first place in the toughest division in the echl. Last season was probably a once in a lifetime experience. This season and back in 06-07 shows what kind of division the north really is. They beat the hell out of each other all season and see who comes out on top in April. In 06-07 the cyclones, bummers and storm battled all season for first place and the bummers ended up in first, but only 2 points seprated the 3 teams and it's looking like this season could finsih the same way. |

Ever hear the comment don't look back because something might be gaining on you?
Elmira with 42 points is one point behind the Cyclones. Trenton with 39 points is now 4 points back. This division has a 10 point spread between first place and sixth place. An interesting race to say the least. |

Wow, if we had 6 more points we'd be in first. If we had 7 fewer points, we'd be next to last...crazy. |

| Wheeling has now lost 6 in a row (well, 0-5-1) ... I don't predict them to be holding onto first much longer. These next 8 dozen or so games against Dayton have at least became more exciting granted we're climbing and put together a little winning streak here. The only negative is that Elmira has a couple of games in hand while we're done for the All-Star break. |

If everyone remembers correctly, this (Late Jan. into Feb) is when teams that start out great, seem to fall apart, hit reality and end up in the spots where they SHOULD be.
I for one havent seen a 1st or 2nd place team in our Clones, until recently. The Trenton series last weekend was so polar opposite from Friday night to Saturday. I am excited for our team now that players are starting to few comfortable and play smarter.
If we keep up the current trend, and get back a couple players from the A, I do believe we can, and will take back our division, and go into the playoffs with great momentum. Ceddy, TB, and possibly, but unlikely, O.Latendresse will make great additions to this team :)
But again, thats wishfull thinking! |

Elmira has 44 points after they beat Reading today. Trenton has 41 points. We have 5 teams within 6 points and 6 teams within 9 points as we head into the All Star Break. |

The only two teams in the entire league that have really good records are Florida and Victoria.
Florida is coached by former Cyclone coach Malcolm Cameron and his teams tend to excel in the regular season and tank in the playoffs.
Everything is wide open as of now. Repeat? LOL. |
