Another out of sync clunker. Van Guilder being signed by Hamilton was the top of the hill. And the puck rolled down and down...
On the plus side... the jerseys looked really cool. Lacasse had some outstanding saves in the first two periods; he's especially good with the glove. And...did I mention the jerseys?
Truthfully we need some sort of playmaker whether he be new or someone stepping up. The loss of our offensive firepower to the AHL has been staggering but each time we have battled back with someone new leading the team.
I imagine Mr. Weber will be skating the guys pretty hard tomorrow looking for the guy that is up for the challenge. |

The depleted line-up is really starting to show, especially with Van Guilder gone now as well. Ehgoetz has been put on the point on the power play which, while I understand it it takes away a lot of his scoring ability in my opinion. Having guys like Ferazzoli on the power play, who has just seemed like, while giving it a ton of effort, has merely been pushed around out there. Honestly at this point Johnson is one of our biggest offensive threats which is kind of scary ... and that's not a knock on JJ as I think he has some serious talent along with dropping the gloves I just never thought I'd be saying it. It also sucked to see Scero out again after just returning from injury ... I guess he was too shaken up from the hit against Reading Wednesday, when Sproat went after the guy? Also I don't think Lacasse played horrible or anything, and I know the three starts are pointless and I'm usually the first to say it's pointless to argue over them, but I didn't see the point in him getting a star. Just bizarre to me. But whatever.
Also I will second that the Preds jerseys were very cool and a colossal improvement from last year's which were just all white with a small logo in the middle. For those who missed the auction, as best I can remember JJ's went for the most at around $600. I think they should have said at the beginning that they also had McElroy and Van Guilder jerseys.
Hopefully, just like Wednesday, they come out hungry to even up the series. Gotta get there early to get my grocery bag! |

Dreadful game.
Almost a moral victory in that it was tied in the 3rd period. We mustered all of 9 SOG the first two periods.
I think the absence of Van Guilder gives several players an opportunity to step it up and show what they have. Gordon, Sproat and Dietrich have opportunity staring them right in the eye.
I hope that they don't blink. |

I thought the jerseys last night were awesome. The only other special jerseys i think that might have been better were last years Stingers jerseys. what happened to the offense from wednesday night? I believe it was almost 13 minutes into the game before we even had our first SOG.

cyclonehole, I agree, they should have announced that they had Wyman, McElroy, VanG uni's but at the same time, they say on the ledge of the bench the whole time, so I was able to tell they had some "miscellaneous" jerseys for the end.
I wonder why they made the McEl and Wy ones, even if the idea of them coming back was a possibility, maybe they were just hoping for a few extra bucks to go into the pot for charity.
Either way, I called $600 for the JJ jersey to Katy, b4 they started the bidding, and it looked like it was gonna end around 500, but then the one guy stood up and started the bidding again. |
