I think that this article is very well titled: "Cedric the Competitor"
In his first season in Cincinnati, Cedrick had lost a game in Wheeling and given up the game winner late. I was hanging around after the game, and Desjardins-in warm up suit-passed me. He had a look that said, "Don't mess with Me"-unusual given what a nice kid he is.
He proceeded to run up and down the stairs at Wesbanco and was doing so when I left the arena more than 10 minutes later.
Cedrick was told he wasn't good enough as a junior player. He won The Memorial Cup and its Best goaltender Award. He was undrafted. He won the Kelly Cup and its MVP. He's done a great job in the AHL this season.
I can't help but think that his "ladder climbing" won't end until he's suiting up with an NHL crest on his sweater. |
