I don't think many people know what happened. Friday night, a lot of people were heckling the Jackals, especially Chaz and Martinson and Sgroi. On the way back to the locker room Sgroi spit on a fan. Apparently the fan filed a complaint about it, with whom I don't know. On Saturday Martinson came out before the game. We all thought he was going to apologize for Sgroi's behavior. Instead he berated the fan and called him a "baby" for reporting it. What a duo. Under Martinson's "leadership," no wonder they act the way they do.

| Well i dont think the elmira coach was too thrilled with Martinsons leadership either cost them a game that they should have won hands down and probably alot of people would say elmira deserved to win but their antics cost them the game.....again |

OH MY(RA)!!!
I sit right where the Cyclones come out of their locker room and I have never seen a single player, coach, or other employee even look up-let alone respond-to anything negative that has been said to them. Including some stuff from yours truly
I can't even fathom Weber not immediately taking action against a player who behaved in the manner Sgroi did. I'm going to assume that his ain't Mikey's first verbal or "fluid" run in with a fan.
Oh, and I did take the liberty of copying your post and putting it on the Elmira fan forum on intotheboards.net. |

I was looking for it also but its not there. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

They did. It was right after the post by "Fangers".
I guess they can do that because intotheboards has a pretty strict policy about linking statements to articles. Or the Elmira portion of the board may have a moderator who decided to deep six it.I can't imagine why they'd do such a thing I wasn't too keen on letting them know where it came from so I just copied your post and didn't provide any link.
Anyway, I've always been entertained by Sgroi's act, but actions like this and Martinson's response are probably why the two haven't been able to cut it at a higher level.
Lipping back and even fake threatening with a stick (Malcolm MacMillan was absolutely artful the way he did it!) is fine by me, but spitting just ain't right. Unless someone spit at him. I never bought into the "two wrongs don't make a right" thing

No, but it is common sense not to badmouth your own team especially to the players when they are going into/from the locker room. |

The worst things I'll say are along the lines of: "If you don't shoot, the you can't score". Mild stuff. I'll stand and clap for them even if they stink.
I'm probably 98% positive in my comments which they're meant to hear. The ones they aren't meant to hear are a entirely different matterly
I agree that there is no point in berating them. Most are just kids and the effort is usually always there even if they didn't play well.
And this team is almost beyond criticism given the heart they have shown so far. Almost |

there is nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism every now and then. i myself have done so on occasion; mostly when they continually try to score through the hole that doesn't exist in the goalies chest, if al macinnus or zdeno chara haven't put one through there with their shots by now then it's not going to happen...
hrc, you did bring something up that has been festering with me for, well, let's just say it's always pissed me off. this is no way directed towards you hrc (while we may not always see eye to eye, you know the game and present your points in a well thought out manner), i'm sick and tired or hearing people yell "shoot, shoot, shoot" constantly on the PP or any other time for that matter. then when a player does shoot while a person is yelling "shoot!" and the shot hits a defending players shin, rebounds, and creates an odd man rush, the person who yelled "shoot" then yells "what the hell, why'd you shoot that?" i get frustrated with our PP, but i understand the concept that shooting the puck when there is no shooting lane is pointless. so, too all the people out there that constantly yell "shoot" please take some time to comprehend what i just said and if you feel the urge to continue to yell "shoot" please refrain from yelling anything else when a player takes a shot and it gets blocked by the defender standing 4ft away...he did shoot after all and that was what you were asking for......
