Hello Cyclones fans and thank you for hosting a place to post about your team. As a loyal Rays fan I must say that your team as a couple class guys one of them being #85 J.Johnson. He was very classy and even provided an autograph and pictures with the very same fans that heckled him the nigght before.

Now your goaltender Ryan Nie on the other hand...wow what a character this guy is. Game one he gets yanked for giving up 4 goals etc. As he is coming off the ice the fans are giving him a mock ovation etc. He points his stick at a fan and flinches at him like he wants to "throw down". Mind you the fan is sitting up high enough where nothing could really happen. He is escorted back into the tunnel by the local PD and then procededs to bash the walls and door in the North Charleston Colusiem. Breaking his stick and denting up our door. Off course thats now ammunition for the fnas to razz him even more. After the loss he walked up the tunnel and spoke a few very "adult" words at the section and carried on. Game 2 was more of the same. He came off the ice from warm ups and had some choice words for the fans and they hadnt said anything to him yet. I know the players get razzed and its designed to get under the players skin, but this dude was just over the top. He said some pretty derogatory stuff about a "ladies couple" that was in the stands as well. I hope he makes one more trip down to the NCC so we can give him one last tast of southern hospitality.

After all was said and done I even said hey dude gimmie 5 its all in good fun to which he replied with another crappy comment and kept rolling. Oh well.

PS - I have his stick hanging on my wall in my sports room.... he was very angry I guess. LOL

Ryan is a very emotional player. He's one of those guys that doesn't like being messed with and thats just him. I've seen a lot worse so I think of this as normal for most upset hockey players.

Look at Mike Sgroi's past, he has destroyed locker rooms apparently from the stories I have heard, so Ryan's actions although they weren't professional weren't as bad as some players.

Did this guy seriously take the time to register this account, tell that story and give himself that signature?

Hate to hear about when one of our players has gotten out of hand.I
can understand the frustration in game 1, but to bring it back out in
game 2 is out of line. Our coaching staff is known for correcting this
problem with players or else they find themselves playing elsewhere.By
now the word has probably gotten back to them and I would be surprised
if he is like that when we come back to play game 6 or 7. Everyone
knows how nice our fans treat the other teams .

I went to a game in North Carolina and the fans were BRUTAL there. Compared to what I saw there what he got here was mild. A couple of 15 year olds, 2 chics and me heckling was all. I'm not saying he's a bad dude, I know in the heat of the moment emotions get the best of you. I'd honestly love to see you guys come into town for a game so I can chat with the dude again, by then he should be more calm.

PS - The other goalie you guys had was a MONSTER in the pipes. He made some awesome saves.

My family was down there by the tunnel and my mom said Nie didn't say a thing. She said Justin Johnson said something before the third period. Not Nie.

Justin said something before the 3rd period to the kid directly in front of me. He told him to "take a seat" The same kid he took a picture with and signed an autograph for the following night I might add. He was a very cool person.

As far as Nie goes if she didnt here him going back and forth or having to be escorted up the tunnel by NCPD for pointing his stick in someones face or having his stick dumped in the trash after he smashed the door and wall with it I dont know what to tell her. Matter of fact the cops sent over 2 more officers and security and building staff after the incident to check on the damage to the door and because he was pretty wond up. He had PLENTY to say before game 2 started when we were looking up the tunnel and he was getting gatorade from the tables the have set up in front of the locker room doors.

There were a couple Cyclones fans right next to the tunnel, was she wearing the Canadiens Jersey and taking pictures?

All the stuff said about Nie is true.
He did smash a stick, a door and whatever
else. But I think he was just pissed off
b/c of the way the game went. Nie is a super
nice guy off the ice and I think he was just
having a bad hockey night. Now for JJ i have
only seen him in a bad mood 1 time off the ice
and that was b/c of a jacka$$ fan not know when to
leave the players alone after a rough night. And now
b/c of this same fan we have to stand across the street
after the games and try to talk with the players after games.

I pretty much chalked it up to that. In the heat of a game you get mad and stuff happens, I guess my biggest thing was on the night of the 2nd game he was still being a jack ass. Either way I am not making a judgement on him as a person just sharing what happened etc.

To be honest I would want any player who gets yanked after a bad outing to be pissed off. That means he cares. I dont think he's a bad guy I just think he handled the situation poorly on day 2.

I wonder if he'd autograph my stick for me? LOL

I'm sorry to say that if she honestly feels that Nie didnt say or do anything she is very mistaken. I am not here to get into a he said she said. I know what happened I was there, the NCPD cop that pulls security even talked to me about it on day 2, so it is what it is. She wanted to snap a picture of him at the end of the game and I was the one who said hey man your fans want to snap a picture because he was more focused on talking smack to me than amything else.
