Mark Van Guilder has recorded 74 points (27 goals, 44 assists) in 73 career ECHL games with the Cyclones. In 30 career AHL games, however, the Notre Dame product has failed to light the lamp and has accrued a mere three assists.

Yeah, and Carson Palmer used to be able to pass for more than 200 yards in a game. While the stats may not lie, what exactly is your point? I agree with Cyclonesdiehard.....we will be more than happy for him to spend some time with us.

Van Guilder was held scoreless on no shots with a minus-1 rating tonight against San Antonio to extend his goal-less streak in the AHL to 31 games.

Carson can still throw the ball when he has to, as several late fourth quarter, game-winning drives this season attests. The Bengals don't have a deep threat at wide receiver, and they don't have a real mobile offensive line which limits what Carson can do.

Which is why Desharnais future isn't in the National Hockey League. Switzerland? Russia? AHL contracted player with Chicago or Hershey? In the IHL with Muskegon? Where do you see your boy playing by 2011-12?

Not every player has an immediate impact at the next level. Check this out:http://hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=49486

2003-04 Anaheim Mighty Ducks NHL 21 0 6

Not a very promising debut, but he's had a creditable NHL career as a mid-tier player.

DD could end up in Europe. More than likely, he'll get his real NHL shot with an organization other than the Canadiens as they are loaded at center and already have a smallish team.

His 2 year deal expires this season. He could be traded before his contract expires, signed again by Montreal or released.

His NHL career will certainly not be limited to one game. One would have to be completely intellectually dishonest to think that it would.

You cannot related the idiotic Bengals to the Cyclones... don't even go there.

More insight on the Bengals from a guy who called them a top 6 team earlier this season.

Aren't we priviledged?

Kunitz has been a top six forward on two teams that have won the Stanley Cup. He has been plagued by injuries this season and will be out 4-6 weeks. I had a chance to see him last week when the Penguins were in Tampa.

The biggest difference between Kunitz and Desharnais is one is a National Hockey Leaguer and the other is not. Kunitz makes more in one month than Desharnais has through his first 2.5 pro seasons. There's no real comparison between the two.

The only way Desharnais plays more than one NHL game is if Montreal gets hit with injuries that puts 6-8 players on the shelf -- the only reason he played the one game he did this year. He's three inches shorter than Martin St. Louis, and not even close as a skater. It's not going to happen for him. Eventually you'll see the light on this one.

If Montreal doesn't re-sign him to a 1-year deal (and maybe add a club option for a second year) this summer there's not one NHL organization that would sign him as somone they think could play for them. Any team signing him this summer would sign him for the same purpose Montreal did, to fill a roster spot in the AHL.

How many games has a Cincinnati AHL team won this season?

None?

Yeah, I'll support whoever we have playing in town. I saw no problem with supporting both teams back in the day, and don't understand why people persist in the sour grapes.

A post from another thread....and I quote, "why do Cyclones fans such as yourself always think there's some sort of motive or agenda whenever I go to a game or post here?"...Donnie Hockey

I have no earthly idea why Cyclones fans such as myself would think that Don, maybe because of posts such as this....trolling, trolling, trolling keep those posts a'trolling.

I cannot fathom why anyone could or would take you seriously any longer........GOOD DAY, Sir!

I cannot fathom why you and other Cyclones fans think I care whether you take me serious.

One thing for sure: I'm easily able to get into you and hrc666's kitchen. Neither of you have the ability to skate away from my posts here. You both always get drawn in.
